One of my English teachers, Ms. Nishikawa. Really cute and funny. Ray, another JET in my town, points out the map of Austraila the kids made. Ray isn't a teacher, but a Coordinator for Intl. Relations Me, Ray, and a bunch of sannensei girls This dragon is made entirely of little colored shreds of paper. It's fantastic I know I shouldn't have favorite students...but Moeko here is one of my favorite people in the world. ^_^
A map of Malaysia the students made Hard to see, but the theme of this year's festival was World Friends. And that's the mural the sannensei made for it The ichinensei sing an Australian song More singing... Karen and Yuka, two of the cutest girls in the universe, and members of the English club.
Two more ichinensei girls, Haruko and Hitomi. They'd seen me with a camera and had been following me around all day...I finally got the hint The principal hard at work. He beat me in a bowling competition. Probably because he was wearing the blonde bob wig while I only had the silver afro. Yes, it is a long story. Me and three sannensei girls. Some pics from the chorus competition. I think these are ichinensei More singing...
More singing... The sannensei put on a performance of a Malaysian folk tale More from the performance... The guy in the cage helmet and bird wings had the most elaborate costume of all...and was in the play for all of 5 seconds Curtain call
Ichinensei boys. Yes, they are always that spirited They were literally fighting to get into the picture ^_^ Ichinensei girls, noticeably a bit more calmer than the boys... Ray with his girlfriends, er, I mean, ichinensei students... =P And me with some sannensei girls. I have no clue what I'm doing...looks like I'm falling over
My coat seems a little big for him...maybe he'll grow into it one day... Sannensei girls again Ichinensei girls again. It seems like if I even glanced at my camera they were ready to have their picture taken ^_^ The English Club put on a performance...all in English! And they're only ichinensei. It was really good. Here, Karen sets up the story. Karen telling Sayaka (who played the role of a guy in this story, since the English club has no guys in it) that she had come to be his wife. Sigh, if only real life was this easy...
Sayaka's friends, played by Yuka and Sasaki-sempai, asking the husband to have his wife make things for them Another sannensei performance Two sannensei members of the brass band. The one on the left, Atsuko, is an incredible sax player. This school's band has actually won awards in Kansai, they're really good Ichinensei boys, a little calmer this time Some ninensei students in the chorus competition
The brass band performing For the finale, half the band got out pom-poms and danced while the band played YMCA... ...You haven't lived till you've seen Japanese kids shaking their butts to YMCA. With pom-poms. Needless to say, it was a lot of fun One of my English teachers, Mrs. Sasaki. She's a really good teacher (and very nice lady) and I was amazed by how skilled her ichinensei students are at English
Some paintings the sannensei made More paintings... More paintings... Ms. Nishikawa, Ray, and a guest from Malaysia
