Graduation

I graduated from The University of California, Davis, in June 2003. My commencement ceremony was on Sunday, June 15th. Mine was a bit different from the average ceremony...I applied for, and was accepted to become the commencement speaker for my ceremony. So, I got to deliver my address, on stage at graduation, to almost 1000 graduates, and 9000 guests. ...No pressure. The best part was that, save a few good friends, I didn't tell anyone about it, which really surprised my family and friends. It was a lot of great fun. ^_^

This is my father. This is before the ceremony, as everyone is heading over to the Rec Hall for the ceremony. A picture of the stage party, getting ready to come in. I'm somewhere up the stairs. The stage party walking in. My parents still have not seen me at this point. ^_^ Walking through the graduates. Parents still haven't seen me, but my friends on the floor are wondering what the hell I'm doing. This was a whole lot of fun. ^_^ Walkin' up the stage steps. Those steps are pretty narrow and rickety, so I was really afraid of tripping...
Standing on stage. Now my parents see me. But they still have no idea why I'm up there. Facing the flag for the National Anthem. Here I am, at the podium, delivering my speech. This picture can't show just how nervous I was. There were about 10,000 people there, graduates + guests. Another shot of me on stage. Still delivering my speech...
Walking across the stage, on my way to get my fakey diploma. Yay. Or something. After the ceremony, Marcos, Kelly, and Joanna, as they wait for me outside the Rec Hall. Dad, Mom, me, Aunt Pearlie, and Uncle Paul. Left to right. Me and my Aunt Pearlie. Mom, Aunt Pearlie, and Me.
Now we're at Chevy's for the after-grad party. Why Chevy's? Dad and Kelly have this odd Chevy's obsession, plus there was no line. Here, Kelly flashes that hot wrist action. One of my friends, Gladys. Look familiar? You may have seen her in the pics from the Japan Feature. That's how we met. Although we really didn't become friends until after the trip. Joanna and I engaged in our first battle of the night over control of the camera. Everyone at the dinner table. Kelly gave me these...um...interestingly shaped ballons for my graduation. It is just me, or does this remind you of something...?
No comment on this pic. Really. Kelly in the 'crack', aka the little space inbetween my bed and the wall. We send her to the crack when she's been acting up. Gladys...um...caressing...the balloons. This pic really speaks for itself. And since it does, I shall refrain from commenting on it. That I shall.
