It's short notice, I know. But anyone willing to hop the Utsunomiya Line up here, getting off at Suzumenomiya Station which has just the one exit, I'd love to have you come up.
I'd need to know how many, in order to make sure there are enough seats (or enough cars).
Now, for example if you're coming from Ueno by normal trains, the trip is generally going to cost 1890 one way. Entry fee to the water park is 1100 and lockers are 100.
Leaving Ueno at 10:25 on the JR Takasaki line you have to switch at Akabane to the JR Tohoku Line leaving at 10:43 and you'd get to Suzumenomiya at 11:55. These are Utsunomiya Line Trains, by the way.
This is Japan, so it's not an enormous water park and also is not wall-to-wall people. There are lots of people, of course, but you can breathe easily.
I'm at 090-3133-0733, my name is Jill. You can always PM me!

I'm afraid I don't have the money right now, since I'd be coming from shizuoka pref. : (. Kinda pricey. I hope you have a fun time, though : ).

You know, I always thought you were a guy till you started going around calling yourself Jill lol. Also, that mask is Jiro, right? You always see them at festivals.
I got to Japan less than 3 weeks ago, already managed to find some stray cat and agree to pay for its expensive surgery >_>. The poor thing needs its eye taken out : (. So if I wasn't paying for that, I'd probably go. I really hope the surgery will be under 30,000 yen :|.

My daughter's in Japan for two weeks and we were away in Hakuba for a three-day weekend this past weekend. Not sure if we're going to try for another three-day weekend this weekend (or maybe just an overnight Saturday). Let me see what her plans are (she may be planning to visit friends). Things are just really complicated now that she's here (I hardly ever see her anymore...she's off for a two-week Earthwatch project and then off to Cambridge then no chance for me to see her until Christmas).

How was Hakone? My girlfriend already misses not having a cat, forcing me to act like one in its absence :P
I might be able go, but I'm not sure how this weekend will pan out because a friend is returning to Japan from SF.

Hakuba, not Hakone. Much, much less in Hakuba and lots fewer people.
And, if you're acting like MY cat, feel free to hiss, spit, and claw.
Although I heard he was reasonably well behaved.

*chuckle* Ah, well. Who can come, should. Once school starts again the water park will close. You with the one-eyed cat! ZaichikArky, please come anyway. You are my brother. I have half-a-cat here. You'd get to meet him and watch him seesaw around the house. I'm prone to paying medical care for random animals I rescue, too.

As a major minor point, Mew... my son's counting on getting his Dreamcast(s) back this weekend.

Can you get me to a Hard-Off out there? I need to buy some turntables...

Yes, actually. There are quite a few. Even a good-sized one.
I think I'll be able to get down there, but I still have not secured a new Dreamcast laser. I promise to go raid akiba today, as soon as Mr. Raging Hangover quits throwing foldy-chairs at my cereberal cortex...

It'd be nice if more people would come up. Plus, the water park is fun! And soon not open because once school starts it's not going to get enough custom.

No water-parking. But Mew came up anyway and he bought himself an iron kettle. He also bought his favorite coffee drink. He helpfully fixed my son's Dreamcast and showed me some tricks with batteries. He regaled us with tales of his wild youth―ever so long ago, hahah―and got a nice dinner out of it. Also cash for all his work. But he didn't get here until nearly three, and didn't bring a bathing suit. I hope I'll be able to convince some friend to go with me before it closes. Ah, well!
