I saw my boyfriend playing with this Google Earth (http://http://earth.google.com/) thing, and it's pretty cool. I want to see where you live! Here's mine:
This is the crappy house I'm living in now (http://www.stuofdoom.com/of/images/heh.jpg)
This is the crappy house that I grew up in (http://www.stuofdoom.com/of/images/cb.jpg)
And here's where I went to high school. Yes, that whole thing is my school (http://www.stuofdoom.com/of/images/school.jpg)

Google Earth is tons of time-wasting hours of fun. I like looking at secret places you could never drive to like Area 51 and Nevada Nuclear Testing Grounds. Seeing those giant craters chalk full of radiation are morbidly entertaining to me.

If you want to see something really interesting I suggest looking for this address using google earth.
22nd St W & 70th Ave W, Tacoma, WA 98466
I found this by accident one day and find it just too entertaining.
Also for those with a dial-up connection I suggest a alternative that is more bandwidth friendly. go to maps.google.com and type in the address there. then click on the button with the word satellite on it and it will give you the same thing.

Heh, that was cool.
I just loaded up Google Earth again. I was glad to see they're finally getting some high res shots of the Kansai region. They didn't have any when I was planning my trip a few weeks ago. I can't wait till Kobe's covered. I want to find all the places I went.

Haha, yeah. I noticed when I posted the first time that the coordinates were on the bottom, so I cut them out of my house pics. Left it on the school though, I don't mind if someone stalks some people there.

the coolest thing is, go to new york city with google earth and check off "buildings" on the bottom of the program. then zoom in on the building and then they are all 3-d.

My place is the green roof in the middle of the screen. The avocado orchard behind our place is now gone (top of the screen). We still get kangaroos through there all the time.

It's a nice place to live. Lots of mountains.
Can anyone tell me what kind of jet is on the USS Hornet in San Francisco, though? There's only the one there...
And where are the Nevada test sites?

And where are the Nevada test sites?
The easiest way I have found to locate them is to look for Mercury Nevada. Once it has located that just scroll up due north until you see pock marks in the ground..... it's pretty cool. special thanks to Wysen for advising to look for them.

It doesn't suprise me that when I zoomed in on the depressing landfill that is my town that I was met with a big blurred smudge. Still managed to find my house, though.

Sorry, but only a few weeks back my house area was a green smudge. Sooo...
I'm amazed that you can now make out my house! yay!
Google Earth rocks more and more each passing day.

edit: ugh. Shitty ImageShack quality drops. The labels read, from top left to bottom right, driveway, house, garage, patio, hedge, garden.
You can even see the 2 apple trees! yay! :D
