In case you haven't heard there's a new kid on the block for the Democratic Nomination. His name is Mike Gravel and he is bat shit crazy. He wants you to vote for him. In an effort to get you to vote for him Mike released two videos online on youtube.
I watched both after hearing about them on the Daily Show and they really are as bizarre as everyone's saying. I just can't figure them out. What the hell is Gravel trying to say with these videos (Rock and Fire to be specific)? What is he trying to tell us? I've watched these things beginning to end and I swear to god Lassie's barks were easier to understand.
Here's the two videos:
Rock (http://youtube.com/watch?v=0rZdAB4V_j8)
Fire (http://youtube.com/watch?v=lRwizmuCnOw)
Rock is definitely the crazier of the two, but Fire has ominous music that makes it sound like it was recorded at someone's funeral.

I challenge you OP9, figure out what the hell Gravel is trying to get across with either of these videos. I also challenge you to watch them both all the way through without succumbing to a brain aneurysm.

Have you actually heard Gravel's stances on things? :watson: I like him better than all of the other candidates I've heard from. Everyone else is just an identical copy of each other. Gravel isn't afraid to fricking speak his mind.

He speaks his mind because he knows he has no chance in hell of winning. People who speak their minds don't win. Besides did you even watch the videos? What the hell is with this guy?

Well Rock, is well, hes stoned, and he thinks he's a rock, but then realizes hes hungry. That or how we were starring at him, and didn't really notice the rock untill he brought it to our attention which could possibly mean that he would bring the small important stuff into view (the many rocks in the world). Fire is fire, its gonna die if you don't feed it, but it can also kill you.

I've only seen three minutes into Fire so far, but....dude, that's not ominous music, it's just a big boat horn. Or rather, several big boat horns. He's probably near a harbor.

EDIT: ......wait a minute. He's a senator?

.....that's awesome.

Ugh. I fucking hate politics. Nobody has any passion for anything any more. The people just don't care. Politicians only slightly differ from each other. "Abortion, right or wrong?" "Well, I can see that abortion might be right in some cases, personally I think it's wrong.-Republican candidate." "Well, I can see that abortion might be wrong in some cases, personally I believe it's right to have a choice-Democrat candidate" It's like the same fricking thing.

From the Rock video, I would say he would be a great comedian. The way he looks in the camera......

Interesting videos. Don't tell you much about the candidate. Nothing to love and nothing to hate. Yes, they certainly are better than the slander we normally hear.

Truthfully, I'm not impressed with Gravel when he does speak. Oh, I don't disagree with much of what he says but all he appears to be is an angry old man seeking a last hurrah. I certainly wouldn't vote for him.

The sketch comedy show MadTV had a skit about this whole situation. It consisted of two politicians who were supposed to be in a debate. One would say something and the other would repeat it with different wording. Eventually it just devolved into them saying the exact same thing at the exact same time. I found it both hilarious and slightly enlightening at the same time.

Rock:

The quick analysis I thought of was that he realizes as a politician trying to win the vote, that everyone will pick the gray area and virtually say the same thing, so why say anything at all? It's all been said. Then, he walks away to say he's fed up with how things are going in politics.....yeh.

Gravel at the SC debate: http://youtube.com/watch?v=1gMlHv2lDqA

He actually looks like a good candidate. Hillary and Obama are both very cookie cutter. America needs a REALLY new direction to go in.

The more I watch of him...the more I think that he's right.

Not sure if he would make a good President, but definitely has interesting views. I like it.
