I have a mac laptop with a built-in mike and webcam setup. It comes with iChat, which lets me use my webcam, but I can only use it to talk to people who also have a webcam. I downloaded Adium, and I'm not even sure if I can use my webcam with it.

Does anyone know of a program that will let me use my webcam, even with people who don't have one?

...

You're saying I should download Msn, Joey? Cause that's like... weak.

MSN for Mac is crippled like none other, anyway. If you want MSN with video capabilities, use Mercury Messenger.

That said, the recent versions of Skype allow for one-way video chats with two-way audio.

Grrr. Is it the mac book or the mac book pro?

iChat - add your MSN buds via Jabber - you can google for instructions. But here as I'm nice. Under preferences go to the accounts tab then select the Service Settings.
Server: talk.google.com
Port: 5223 and check off Connect using SSL, Allow self-sign certificates, Warn.
Location is Macintosh.local
Check off use my machine name
You can also use:
Yahoo
Skype

I have a MacBook and I just use Adium for my IMing needs. I use iChat if I want to have a webcam conversation. But I do video chats so rarely that I'm fine with the setup I have.

Kinda. But you can use wikihow.com for that sort of question in the future. Or IM me.
