Wow, even the holy fathers fed up with this shit. We could use this in Boston, BADLY:
'Drivers' Ten Commandments'
The "Drivers' Ten Commandments," as listed by the document, are:
1. You shall not kill.
2. The road shall be for you a means of communion between people and not of mortal harm.
3. Courtesy, uprightness and prudence will help you deal with unforeseen events.
4. Be charitable and help your neighbor in need, especially victims of accidents.
5. Cars shall not be for you an expression of power and domination, and an occasion of sin.
6. Charitably convince the young and not so young not to drive when they are not in a fitting condition to do so.
7. Support the families of accident victims.
8. Bring guilty motorists and their victims together, at the appropriate time, so that they can undergo the liberating experience of forgiveness.
9. On the road, protect the more vulnerable party.
10. Feel responsible toward others.

Not only did Christ constitute St. Peter head of the Church, but in the words, "Whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth, it shall be bound also in heaven; and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth, it shall be loosed in heaven," He indicated the scope of this headship.

According to the Bible, whatever rules the pope makes on earth God will make true in heaven. Yay, Catholicism!

This is why I love the Catholic Church.
Not to be hatin' on the other branches of christianity, but the thing about the catholics is that we know that they priests are human and bound to mistakes. Sure, supposebly the Pope is infalible according to the catholic faith, but more knowledgeable catholics know that rule was made during really... Interesting... Times. Therefore, I know that I can be a better christian than the Pope.
Now, if the church was run by people that would take great pains to make themselves look inmaculate by God (like some Fire n' Brimstone ministers I've seen here in the city), who the hell am I going to compete with a "perfect" christian?.
Also, notice how those that yell fire and brimstone at "sinners" always quote the Old Testament.
Does it notice that I was taught by jesuits? :D.

Umm... they missed one.
"Be Patient but drive with confidence"
That would solve 95% of all traffic problems.

I've come to like Catholics more than protestants in my area. They're SO much more chill about stuff than the protestants are, at least here.

It's because we looked back at our history and we collectivelly thought "Oh, shiiit, what the fuck have we done!?".
At least that's my excuse.

I think the issue that people have is with Catholic Church and those who run it rather than everyday catholics.

Shit, they need to make this mandatory reading in Oklahoma. That state has some of the worst drivers I have ever seen.

Some people don't make the distinction, though. After Bush got elected again, my friend said: "All those stupid Catholics voted for Bush again!"
Me: "Kerry is Catholic."
Friend: "Well, why didn't they vote for him?"
Me: "First of all, the Bible Belt is Protestant, not Catholic. Secondly, a lot of people are afraid to vote for Catholics because they feel we have to much influence from the Pope. That's what happened when Kennedy was elected."
Friend: "...Kennedy was Catholic?"
Me: "God, I hate you."

Well, even the people who run the Catholic church are doing alright at being somewhat cordial with other religions. Watching stuff like Jesus Camp which deals with more Bible Belt style Christianity makes me sick, even as a Catholic. Granted, that doesn't speak for all of them, but I've ran into a lot of people who are completely sure that all Muslims are going to the Christian form of hell. The difference in being part of a religion and following one blindly rears its ugly head again.

Daily show finallly talked about it today didn't pay attention though.
I find these commandments totally lame...
Vatican and the pope are very bored...they didn't find anything else to take care of? there's more important matters to take care of around the world...what a bunge of morrons
The Pope's job is to lead the flock. While he does write on matters purely spiritual much of the time, it doesn't change the fact that temporal issues need attention as well.
Besides, there's more to the Catholic church than the media picks up to hold out as curiosity pieces.
