Lot’s of cultures have Creation stories. What are some of the stories you have heard and why did you like them.

For example, the Japanese Creation story involves a god repeatedly thrusting his spear into the ocean. The brine that drips off the tip of his spear turns into islands. I like the story because the metaphors seem almost transcultural.

The Norse one, hands down. A giant formed by melting ice has creatures spring out of his armpits while his thighs have sex with each other.

The Australian myth, about how a giant snake carved out the Australian landscape and conversly left many offspring on the Continent(Which is why most of the Top 10 deadly snakes are from Australia).

I am a big animal and reptile guy,so I thought this was cool.

I think the Chtulhu's version of the creation of the Universe hits the nail.

... Ok so there's no Lovecraftian version of it, but I like how it ends.

In that case I'll take the Greek side of the story, as if the gods see us as nothing more than a nuinsance... Except for one titan, that is.

From http://www.pitt.edu/~dash/creation.html
Ymir slept, falling into a sweat. Under his left arm there grew a man and a woman. And one of his legs begot a son with the other. This was the beginning of the frost ogres.

Some versions have the thighs giving birth to a troll

Not exactly a creation story, but more an exploration into creationalism. Anything by William Blake really.

I do not believe in reincarnation, or, more accurately, I have never had an experience that supported the notion of reincarnation. However, I once read a book about it. I don’t recall the author specifically discussing the creation of the world or the origin of souls, but he did have some notions that I thought would be nice if they were true.

For example, the author claimed that the purpose of reincarnation was to learn specific lessons throughout each lifetime. This idea appealed to me because one of the main purposes of my life is self-improvement.

The author also said that we are always reincarnated within the same group of people. The specific relationship between two people might change, but they would still have a relationship. This idea appealed to me because I like the people who are in my life and it would be comforting to think they will always be a part of my life.
