I have a friend who is currently living in Japan as a student, she is also a pretty avid gamer, any tips on where she can pick up some slightly less than new ps2 and other console games in the Tokyo area, or at least any leads I can give her?

Thanks in advance!

They should have used game stores all over the damn place. I usually went to Book Off, which I believe is all over Japan. Of course games there won't work on a non-Japanese PS2 unless it's modded. Import American games tend to be pretty expensive. I've never seen import European games.

Many, many stores in Akihabara (a district in Tokyo, Yamanote line, perhaps?). There are soooo many used/cheap video game stores there it's hard to get to them all in a day.

Yes; you can find almost anything anime/video game in Akihabara; among other things...

I accidentally wandered into one of those big orange 「買い取り」 (Kaitori) shops in Kobe. Whoops. Did an aboutface and got out of there. Heh.

You mean, after perusing the goods for about an hour or so, right? :D

Nah, I'm one of those weirdos who *gasp* doesn't watch porn. Just give me a good dorama actress to oggle. :p

There is this chain of stores called "trader" or "traders", they are a bit everywhere. I usually go to the one in Shinjuku; they have quite a lot of PC games in English, and the largest collection of porn animes in the neighbourhood, including kabukicho ;) .

Just to clarify, it's 「変人」、not 「変態人」. :p
