Yep. That time has come. Or IS coming, for me at least. Summer vacation. Time to take breaks from school, and lounge around. Any plans?! ANYTHING?!
For me.. I'm going to Anime Expo, hopefully all 4 days, to meet some OP9ers. I'ma start exercisin' again.. I've let myself get into the worst shape of my life right now tbfh, and I need to lose weight, because I feel like surfing this Summer.
One of my Finnish friends is gonna be in the next town over from mine for a week as she tours all over California. I am extremely excited about that. It'd be fun to show someone California firsthand, as a little tour guide.
Unfortunately, I have like 3 weeks of Summer school. However, I'll be studying either way, because I need to practice my Finnish and my Italian this Summer. Then I plan on reading and writing a shitloads.
Oh! In addition to that exercise category, I plan on practicing Jeet Kun Do  so I can get better at it. Anyway... YOUR PLANS?!

Love you guys really! :D As can be seen with the rising of British immigrants in your country! (Or so I'm told!)
Yeah, all the British immigrants that made this lovely floating prison home. >_>
I'm traveling around Southern California... May visit Mexico too.

I'll be north of LA in Camarillo, LA, San Bernardino area, Palm Springs (hellish in summer... but my family has property there), and San Diego.

Summer classes so I can finish my degree. I'm also working. I should be going back to Japan in November, so thank god I avoided the hot Japanese summer again. If anyone wants to vacation in Tampa bay (wink wink) you MUST contact me.

That is why for those of us that are still in school need to cherish every minute of our summer time, and not waste any of it. Because one day we will all have to get full time jobs and work long hours even during the summer. And while we are working, we will reminisce those long summer days when life was simpler (b/c mooching from parents) and wish they could go back to that time.
Am I on to something here?

I'm headed for FT. Benning, Georgia to start Basic Combat Training (BCT). It's going to take all summer and up until late October.
I can't wait :D.

You're definitely on to something. It's the reason why my summer will be spent building up my website-making skills, fleshing out a new science fiction universe which has been on the back burner, and reading as much as possible. I've only got a few more of these generously long breaks.

I leave for Japan on the 13th and get back on the 27th. Then I am going to Summerfest almost every day to see some pretty good bands. Then it's my birthday. Then we have a huuuuuuge party for my sister who graduated high school, my other sister who graduated college, and my dad who graduated grad school all this year. And then we'll be halfway through July and I guess I'll get a job and work for the rest of the summer.

Its not -that- bad... unless you're in the woods. The heat hasn't gotten too bad yet, but for your sake I hope its a mild summer. As far as the mosquitoes, Ft. Benning is away from most civilization, not too far away from Columbus, GA but thats not a very big town. As far as I know they don't spray chemicals in the air for the mosquitoes like they do in Atlanta. So odds are you're going to want bug spray, a lot of it. ;)

Well my summer plans just got shot to hell.
Today started out pretty well. I was able to sleep in a bit. I went over to my parents house and we went to see a movie and then I went to play softball.
Softball also started out pretty well. I got a hit and scored a run in the first inning and made 5 plays at third base to get people out in the first 3 innings. Then I went for a foul pop up and ended up stepping on the bottom part of the fence and ruptured my right achilles tendon. Game over for me.
I have to call and make an appointment with an orthopedic specialist tomorrow, but it looks like surgery and then whatever recovery period comes with that. I didn't really feel any pain from the injury, but I knew something was wrong right away because it felt kind of funny.
At least it didn't happen last week when school was finishing up. This was the first real day of my summer vacation. What fun.
I just booked the flight!
I'm going to Mexico for sure from the 9th-22nd of August! Going to travel down from Mexico City to Cancun. Will be stopping for a few days in Oaxaca, San Cristobal (Chiapas), and Merida along the way. I'm so excited! Climbing ruins, shopping, beach time... yay! :)

Uh, I don't know why Radiance told you those...things, but they're not completely true. For Shame, Radiance!
The humidity isn't "that bad" only b/c we're in a very severe drought.
It's still 85-93 everyday.

^Amen. I think we've had even less rain here in Athens than you guys in ATL (huge banks of thunderstorms roll right up to us, then mysteriously open up a little bubble of dryness and pass on...), but it's still 90F and 90% humidity, dawn to dusk daily.
And I'm still walking to class. I must be retarded.
