Now, if you want to you can go on youtube and do a search for "russian nazis". (not worksafe) you will get a lot of hits on these idiots beating people up at random because they don't look like "whites" (slavs?). I won't post them here, if you want to see them you can search for them yourself

These beatings (and murders) have become more frequent. And the support for them from the general population have also risen.
What I find od is that russia always have been a multicultural country. I don't know how many ethnicities that live in that huge country, but it's alot.
So I was alittle supprised when I heard about this. I'm not saying that there wasn't any racism there before. Just not like this.

And nazis of all people. If one country should hate nazis, it should be russians, loosing so many millions of men in WWII!!
My relatives still hate germans there.

Big. People here in Finland are getting even more jittery than usual about mother russia, what with those suckers murdering foreign students and attacking gay parades.(I believe some british singer who took part of the parade got injured)

Not to mention those russian racists use the hammer and sickle as their symbol...That's almost as fucked up as Hitler co-opting a very old buddhist symbol for his own use.

Honestly, think about it though guys, if this thing gets big enough, and since there is resentment for the West already in Russian politics, then :( maybe we'll be in for trouble in the future.

There are many in Russia that believe Finland, Baltic countries etc belong to Russia. Though they are a very small minority. The only scary part is if any of them get into power.

Neither are. Neo-nazis have their uses (letting them loose on ze enemies of slavic Russia!) and islamic extremists are better than other separatists as they give a bad name for anyone wanting to be independent. Islamic extemists are in charge of separatists in that hard to spell place only because Russia assassinated all the moderate separatist leaders first. And from what i gathered, the school deaths were mainly caused by a failed attack by the military that made the booby traps and terrorists go off.

Those extremists were Chechnyans who had had their friends and loved ones murdered by russian soldiers. Same thing with the hostage taking at that theater a few years ago. I'd really like to say to Putin "you reap what you sow".

Dude, lots of people in Europe still hate the Germans for WW2, doesn't matter if Germany is run by Nazis or not, they still hate them. Many people have a tendency to never forgive or forget past misdeeds, even if all those responsible have been dead for years. To alot of people, everyone in Germany was responsible, and will always be responsible for past misdeeds. They aren't a majority, but there are plenty of them throughout Europe.

This is getting a surprise amount of coverage, I mean KKK anyone? Russia was always viewed as a slightly racist country ever since the whole Soviet Union thing. Mass government propoganda for so many years is bound to take its affect on the general populace. And the kids that are growing up today, get all their opinions from the older folks that were part of the last generation that soaked it up quite a bit.

You gotta realize that a lot of people were taken hostage in a very small place, such as the school gymnasium. It was summer, it was hot, there were children, and no one, no one was allowed to leave the gym for 3 days. There was no food, no water. If anyone so much as shouted, or even a small child crying, they would be shot, including their parents for trying to protect it. Only on day 3 did the terrorists actually announce to the public what their intentions/cause is.
