Ive taken up breakdancing and a good friend of mine has introduced me to a world of music I never knew existed. One of my favorites comes from a video I had seen not too long ago.

What's worse than a baby getting kicked?

How about a lot of 'em. (http://www.break.com/index/toddler-getting-kicked-remix.html) ;)

Been into breakbeats forever, although I haven't bboyed since the 80s (my body won't work for it, without some muscle and weight loss. I am just not built for it now), but have listened to break beats and it's iterations since then. Check out James Lavelle for my personal fav breakbeat producer. I just happen to have that song SOMEWHERE on my itunes that they are dancing too.

The friend that got me into bboying knows the guy.

Kusoyaro I think i have a nack for doing power but I want to be good at style as well. I have a dvd rip and a cd I could share with you if I can get a torrent up.

There is a Japanese "hip-hop" dance show that comes on once a week here and it is typically a ton of pop-lockers, but 2 weeks ago they had a Korea vs Japan break competition.

Let me just say Japan should have never shown up, and possibly sent in the best America has to offer, to potentially put a DENT in Korea's team. They were BEYOND GOOD. Seriously...

Breakbeats are great. My one relative from T-dot is a B-boy and he's got all these cool songs with nice breaks in 'em.

And... is the Korean team really that good, Tommy?

They were THAT good. I don't know the name of the team but I remember a few names. Bruce Lee and The End.

I have been youtubing for some videos and haven't found it yet, but found some good stuff!

Watch this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qloKLJTCy4A) one until the end! The Korean team kicks ass, even though the Japanese girls do good, they lack the style of the Korean guys.

Here's (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=155TDj1asj0) the commercial you mentioned!

He KILLS (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=155TDj1asj0) it!

And here is a trailer for the WHOLE Gambler Crew! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_ejuZE_pAk)

I can't do anything beyond basic moves myself, but i've been a break fan for a long time. Junior is one of my favorites. Most people will call him a power breaker, but I like his style anyhow.

I'd love to be capable of doing that...not gonna happen. I've always found that stuff incredible to watch.

That has to be harder to do if you're taller.

not from what Ive seen, I know another bboy named Roma hes like 6ft something and does alot of headspins. I used to think being able to do those kinds of tricks were impossible until I found a good teacher. Starting simple can do wonders.

Man, machine rocks. Puts the DANCE back in breakdance.

breakbeats is great to work to. it's obviosly nothing that you can listen to casually.

I think it's unfair too compare Koreas bboy scene with the rest of the worlds.
Breakdancing is huge and mainstream there. Not like in the rest of the world.

When you said breakbeats I immeditely thought of dj'ing. In which case , yeah I'm heavily into breakbeats!

Heh on the flip I like breakdancing - more power to you if you're able to pull off those moves..I'd damn near kill myself trying.

It reminds me of this one time where some guy tried breakdance at a KRS One concert..I don't know what the man was thinking but he actually tried while holding a bottle of Guiness? :boggled: Yeah that didn't end so well ..

I'll tell you exactly what he was thinking. "This is easy, see watch anyone can do it under any conditions. I'm going to look so cool." :D

Haha...
What made it worse was when he fell(or busted his ass!)his girlfriend let out a scream as if someone had been murdered. I felt sorry for the bottle of Guiness..it didn't have to die the way it did..shell cracked open, laying in a pool of its liquorie goodness..

I wish someone would wear a hat that says, "Don't Try This At Home" when breakdancing..might just save a few morons from becoming the object of laughter..

kfisher> what's his bboy name, maybe i know of him

B-boy Rev, I think his crew is named "Eternal" or something similar. From what I can remember it's an all Asian crew, mostly Chinese or Filipino members.

...funny, most of the best B-boys I've ever seen are Asians...
