The parents of an infant decided to go out and play pachinko. As everyone knows, you can’t leave your infant alone at home. Something might happen. So, these parents had the bright idea of putting the kid in the helmet compartment of their motorcycle and leaving him there for several hours.
Weren’t they surprised when they returned to their motorcycle and the child was dead!
Well, they did the only logical thing left to them. They put a bag around the baby’s head and dumped his body on the side of the road near some small town in the mountains.

Irresponsibility leads to certain disaster. This is the ultimate result.
Ah well, things move on.

Wait a minute...
"Dear Cygnus
I.O.U. faith in mankind.
Hugs and kisse"
Great, never had it in the first place.

Wait, they said they dumped the body in January/early February, the body was found in April (like, uh, not eaten by wild animals) and an autopsy showed the boy had died in mid-April? And you're 21 and on your SECOND marriage? And how does a one-year old (pretty good size by then) fit into the helmet compartment and not scream his little lungs out (or perhaps even get out by himself, kids are pretty mobile around a year old).
This story is pretty screwy. I don't think we're close to the truth yet...
THESE are the kind of parents that deserve harsh treatment (as compared to the clueless vegan parents). They'll probably only get a few years under Japanese law (which seems pretty lenient even concerning murder...).

Same as Canada.

It's not just that it's leniant towards murder. Its sentencing system is basically based off of how repentant the defendant is, so if you're a good actor and you haven't pissed off someone in a high position of authority, you can get a few years knocked off of more or less any crime by apologizing profusely and swearing that you'll never do it again.
I agree that the whole time-line issue is odd. There was reference to a phone conversation at the end of January, which led authorities to suspect the couple. Yet, the baby was found in April
Another point I wondered about was that the baby was naked. It is hard enough to believe they put the baby in the helmet compartment, but I just can’t imagine them putting the baby in the helmet compartment naked during the coldest time of the year, or even leaving the baby outside during the coldest time of the year.
I am starting to wonder if they intentionally killed the baby, but then why would they make up such an improbable excuse?
