watched it the other day.

Interesting... the first halo-only segment left me thinking "ok, blah blah, he really likes the matrix, we get it." And i felt the lighting used was really bland, compared to the work that kind of animation takes. The lighting only got decent in the ending...

then samus showed up. I'm not a HUGE fan of halo, but I luvves me some oldschool samus... this made me wanna give the 3d metroids a try.. seeing classic moves in 3d was neat.

When samus loses her battle suit... uhm.. like I implied, I neve rplayed the 3d metroids, but is samus a jedi? :P

As for the 'big spoiler'..... nice. :P

As for the post-spoiler music dance vid.. CHEESEY. but really well animated. REALLY well.. as in "is he using some kinda open source dance animation on these models?" well. Then again, combat scenes by comparson dont really highlight that kind of fluidity too well...

Samus is like a female Spike speigal with battle armor and the ability to turn into a ball that explodes things. She's the most awesomest videogame character ever. :D

I don't even need to watch it. Samus would beat Master Chief in under a minute, with a flawless victory. If that video shows otherwise, it fails. =0

I would never have them fight. I would have them fight side by side and at the end bone each other to create the ultimate fighter. I am downloading it as I type this, so I will update with my comments after.

Oh, and I prefer the 2d Metroids. It would be awesome if they gave an option for 3d or 2d play (haha, yeh right...The game developers aren't paid THAT much).

Edit: Was NOT expecting that; I didn't dislike it. Ha, did you guys catch the dancing at the end? The Matrix thing is played out, so that was what irked me most. Well, first it was that Master Chief was more a ninja, than a marine; noticing that the story was bent, I got over it quickly. I think this guy has made more, so I am going to see if I am right and check those out.

It was pretty well done. Random as hell, but fairly well done.

For the character animations I believe he was using a program called "poser" or something like that which specializes in setting human models into poses.

ya, poser's so widely used, but i didn't know it handled animation... if so, I could imagine there being lots of 'templates' for dance moves and such, wither with poser, or available from other creators..

not that I'm saying that's wht happened here, I'm just mulling the possibilities.

Finally actually watched the video (Couldn't be bothered earlier).
lol master chief's a girl! Also, I caught sight of a jiggle as samus jumped on top MC. :O And in the ending, too. That just feels wrong, somehow.

actually the spartan in the vid isn't master cheif.

if you look closely in one scene you can spot the number 458 on her armor
now flash back to DoA4..their was a Spartan character who's number was 458...and was female.
the guy himself adresses this

now to samus being a jedi...no the saber gun thing as far as i know, comes from clips of SSBB where she is using her pistol as a gun, and as a sword, and the lightsaber sounds are the best the guy could use

also jetset..spartan 458..name is Nicole, bounced slightly during the dance, just harder to notice due to darker clothing

So why did Samus's armor break on the first hit while Master chick's armor could stand up to incessant pummeling? Samus's suit is far more technologically advanced.

I think her chozo-suit breaking is more of a consequence of firing the charge-beam than getting cut by the sword (that I can't remember the name of atm).

W.. T.. F.... What BOLOGNA! Yea.. why did her suit break so easy... and i don't remember master chief being able to kick covenant soldiers into the atmosphere, but i guess that's OK.

If you read the Halo novels, you'd see that a Spartan II SHOULD be able to do stuff like that with that kind of reaction time, the Xbox games give a horrible representation of what Spartan IIs SHOULD be capable of.

Of course, thats factoring in the idea that perhaps the Mjornir armor is what slows them down so much (although reflexes should still be extremely quicker). And of course, you wouldn't find the game very fun if you could actually control a Spartan II at that speed and strength.

Yeah, that's the video game. I mean even in the cutscenes they do some crazy things so it's just so that you can control them.

Personally I would have prefered a more crisp control similar to UT99, but hey, that's just me.
