Do you really hate Japan?
I don't think so. This guy who is one of the candidates of Tokyo governor election hates Japan more than you.

The speech is understandable for most of the Japanese learner, I think.
And the most hilarious part is end of the speech, don't miss it.

Is this for real? I have having trouble believing this largely due to the face that it does not look professional enough. I mean that guy does not look credible at all, he is not wearing a suit, and just bashing Japan is a disorderly manner.

I guess thats how political campaigns are done in Japan, under budget and cheap as possible.

Are you sure this isn't comedy? :eyepop: He sounds like a constipated さんまさん and looks like he could be ワッキー's younger brother.

Seems the government want those candidates' videos off YouTube. :D

This is somewhat related, so here goes my shameless plug.

According to that, Japan is the 90th most happy place in the world (I don't even know if I should use the words "most happy"). Ouch.

1st - Denmark
2nd - Switzerland
3rd - Austria
4th - Iceland
5th - The Bahamas
23rd - USA
41st - UK
90th - Japan
178th - Burundi

I thought it was kind of funny.

As for his speech, go Inbou! And wow, he gives the finger at the end...

That is REAL.
And this is real too.

Umm, what does it take to run for governor? Those look like the NHK 5-minute candidate pieces they run in the mornings around election time (but usually slightly more serious candidates).

I like the singer- Koizumi sang like that when he went to visit Graceland.

On a more serious note, though, we need people like him to stir things up and make waves. Then maybe Japan will start to get rid of its penchant for groupthink society.

That's why I was a big fan of Horie from Livedoor shaking up the business world, bucking just about every Japanese educational and business tradition there is. It's a shame that he was a crook, though!

Bwahahaha

I would vote for the singing guy. Just because he's not a normal political candidate. He's not even the scary kind, like the first guy.

I read he (scary guy) got 8th out of 14, haha. Yeh, we couldn't have that here. Everyone seems to work the middle ground for the most votes then tell you what they really think after. He didn't even care about the votes, it seems. Maybe I should give him a call. The ending was a nice touch to a great speech.

Is that how the vote goes? The guy who sweeps you off your feet with a song gets your vote; the serious crazy guy who wants to overthrow doesn't? BAH! However, the singer does have the musical history, hmm.

Ishihara ("Blinky") is scarier than the scary guy. I can't wait until my taxes go up to pay for a bid for the stupid Olympics. Yeah, Tokyo isn't crowded enough without that...

Well, now that Blinky's been re-elected, here's hoping Tokyo is struck by a big earthquake so he can still enact his plan for the special police to wipe out all the Koreans.
