Anyone interested in the Japanese Motorsports? I forgot to add Gymkhana in there (is that even from Japan?).
I personally like it all, and I went to D1GP last year. Anyone else got experiences/car/etc?
Edit: Wangan counts too!

Ummmmm...I dont really follow motorsports but I have heard of the JGTC. Man I love those cars man. I wish I could get a Rx-7 but I hear it would be a bitch to maintain :(.

Small note: Isn't it SuperGT now ?
Aside from that note, I only wished more races could be shown... Nascar Nation deserves to burn...

Lol, Massive engines and 500 laps of doing the same lefthand turns over and over, taxing the mind heavily from the redundancy and the loudness...that's why it needs to burn??
If so, good reason. :D
I think it is Super GT now.. :S My bad. Didn't they have a JGTC meet/thing here in the U.S, California specifically? I missed it. :(

The car was about $8,000. I'm afraid to add up how much cash I've put into it, though. Ha!

Thanks! I get a lot of young girls looking, but I don't stop much. I figure it's best to stay out of trouble. Ha! Man, I do wish I was a teenager again, though! :D

the land around here's pretty crappy and straight, so i can't really get a whole lot of 'carving going on. if i want something remotely interesting, i have to go over near cleveland, or somewhere in michigan. there's 1 or 2 roads i terrorize regularly, but they're getting a bit too populated for me, and i just don't feel safe on them anymore.

Series 1? Don't you mean 1st gen?
Good show, at any rate. Those are nice. I was going to buy one for 1,500...but then I decided not to. Just not in a good condition, and all.

It should. On that note are there any Japanese Race Car drivers that race outside of Japan or any international racers racing in japan?

There's a Japanese F1 driver that drives under BAR Honda, I know that much. His last name is Sato, I forget his first name.
As far as international drivers go, I know there's a couple in SuperGT. Maybe I'll be one someday. :D 2007 SuperGT spec Nissan GT-R, WHAT NOW?!

In aus we go by series, series 1,2,3 = first gen. series 4,5 = 2nd gen. sereis 6,7,8 = 3rd gen.

i've read that the non-japanese drivers are there so that when they win, the spotlight can actually be put on the other driver. this came straight from a driver on Nismo's team(i forget his name, but i believe he's german?).
a litte OT, but is there a "what do you drive" thread already? i've searched, and found nothing, i just want to make sure.
...And here comes little old Johnny-come-lately me. ><
Love drift, love JGTC. Reading back now...
chrisnick: I don't know the relevance of this, but Wayne Gardner did quite well driving a Supra, I think he was better than his team mate. But it wouldn't surprise me if that's why international drivers are employed.
Hell, I don't care if the spotlight isn't on me. I'd just love to drive a JGTC Supra. :D The Esso Ultraflo one, that's super sexay.

You actualy like rx5's? oh well each to their own :p
Australia got a different set of models compared to the usa, we never got the FB chassis, they are all sa22c like japan. Series one have different bumper and rear, drum brakes on the back rather than disks (mine are s2 disks)
