I'm playing Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. Does anyone know how to pronounce the name "Saleh?" Looking at its spelling, it can be pronounced in a number of ways, but I want to know the correct one.
And I'm asking if anyone knows for certain. I don't want to hear a bunch of wild guesses. I've looked at all sorts of name sites, and none of them have pronunciation guides. =(
First off, it's spelt pronunciation. ;)

I'm guessing that it's a Japanese game in which case Saleh would be Sa as in "Sarge" and Le as in "Letch" or "Let". The h would just be a silent addition made when translating from Japanese to English to stop people pronouncing it "Sale".

I guess the closest thing I can think of is like the spanish word "Sale."
Sa as in salt.
Leh as in the french word 'le or whatever.
Put two and two together.

Actually, I believe the character's name in the Japanese version was Seraph, though I could be mistaken.

It is not a Japanese word nor is it a Japanese name. The only name spelled "Saleh" is Arabic, and it is pronounced "Sah-leh," pretty much how Monkey described. Try the VOA Pronunciation guide, all of the hits will be Arab names. http://ibb7.ibb.gov/pronunciations/index.cfm
I don't know of your game, but if it's supposed to be translated from a Japanese game, it would probably be pronounced サレー (saree).
well if hapa's right then forget about it haha
