My sister works a bank in Springfield, MO.

Her bank was robbed by some idiot. Most bank robbers are idiots, but this guy was pretty stupid. It was a tall white guy who walked into a bank.

The FBI began to investigate on Friday night a reported bank robbery about 5 p.m. at the Great Southern Bank, 1955 S. Campbell Ave., according to police spokeswoman Lt. Faye Barksdale.
The suspect passed an employee a handwritten note demanding cash. No weapons were displayed, Barksdale said in a news release.

The white male took an undisclosed amount of cash, fled north on foot, and was seen running through the Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World parking lot.

The suspect was in his 50s, had a short beard, and was wearing a gray stocking cap, gray fleece sweater, black jacket, blue jeans, the release said.

Security camera photos of the suspect being sought also were released tonight.

I'm pretty angry that it happened and I hope to God that they catch the guy.

Well, I wouldn't think robbers would be anything less than jerks. They are willingly breaking the law for their own benefit, of course.

My brother was held up gunpoint working at a ice cream store before. It was pretty frightening for him.

He looks a lot like that Palpatine character from Star Wars...sort of...but with a few less wrinkles.

Recently someone stole like 200 or 300 or so dollars from a donut shop where I live... ugh.

Has that security photo been doctored? I see no beard.

That's a Japan thing. We should stop being such pussies (me included).
(A) Employees at banks don't make enough to try to physically restrain a potentially armed attackers
(B) Employees at banks don't make enough to refuse the demands of potentially armed robbers
(C) Banks have more to lose by an employee getting shot or injured on the job trying to do something stupid than they do by giving in to demands
(D) Banks have more to lose by having a customer get injured than they do by giving in to demands
(E) Most bank robbers are caught soon anyway

(F) Banks tell their employees to just hand over the money rather than risk getting themselves or the customers hurt. It's policy.
(G) It isn't always easy to tell if someone is lying about having a gun or explosive device.

I think I heard about this guy yesterday, they're calling him the "Mad Hatter" because he's robbed at least two other banks, wearing a different hat each time.

Who walks into a bank where they can be easily IDed on camera anyway? I seriously think he wanted to get caught.

Remember when bank robberies used to be exciting?

Multiple perps, guns, hostages, paper flying everywhere?
