hello outpostnine
I'm having a hard time connecting to the internet via the wireless internet router. At first, I thought it was because I didn't know the password or key or whatever they call it (they're lost, apparently). So we reset the router back to its factory settings, and i still can't connect. My wireless LAN card reads the sigal, but doesn't connect. What gives?
I bought a wireless router ... it has no installation software, and I can't connect to the internet when I run my cables through it, wireless or no ...
Stupid NTT.

Tactical: If you are using windows to manage the connection you might go in to the "change order of preferred networks" and clear out any preferred network profiles. It caches the keys, so if your ssid was the same after factory reset it may still be trying to use the saved key.
Sqiggly named person: what brand? If you are on cable have you made sure to reset the modem too, so it hasn't allocated your ip to your pc. If you have dsl or an existing router (when you plug the computer you get an address that starts with 192.168.something.something), the new wireless router may be on the same (192.168.something.0) network and won't work. Go in the setup for the new router (192.168.something.1) and change the network to (192.168.something+1.0). Reset everything including your pc.
If it's a netgear, don't run their POS wizard. Just go straight to the settings with http://www.routerlogin.com/basicsettings.htm
