.. my heart raced and my eyes widened - an encounter? On this deserted planetoid? Impossible.

But there it stood in the meek spotlight of luminosity projected from my end of the hall, its featureless form sadly gleaming... weakly shimmering back at me as a solitary puddle of polluted water does.

He must have felt so alone, so cold - perhaps even more so since this was quite possibly the last soft beam of artificial lighting he'd ever have chance to see.

And I knew the lonely being out there was of absolutely no danger at all to my warm, freshly refueled vessel....

Yet that must have been why he struck such terror into me.

Artistically: to me it looks like a birds eye shot of a blue robed dude in the snow facing the exterior hull of a section of a huge spacecraft at night time.

Realistically: Looks like a light outside someones house on the wall, with a bug caught in the light.

The way I actually set up that shot is much less romantic; it's an LED booklight bent at an odd angle, and placed on top of a toilet tank with the light beam facing upward against the bathroom wall. Our solitary blue man is actually just a rolled up scrap of putty stuck against the textured surface.
