I had a former ALT and now permanent Japanese High School teacher (Also black and from the Sac-area) come to my school and talk. Everything he said sounded exactly like what Az has been telling us all along.
Do I really care if they're all real? Not really. I like everyone here, and so far nobody's too outrageous. (sp? ><)

I don't trust anyone i meet on the INTERNETS! i just take them for what they are, fun people to chat with, if they are interesting i don't care who they pretend to be. We will probably never meet anyway.
Why? Its not like i plan on cybering with them
Except bob, He is teh hot

Yes, guys here could be girls and some girls could be guys in disguise. But look at the pic thread. Let's you you happen to bump into em, would you really wanna talk to em, or act like you don't know then.
e.g.
casey: Are you xxxxxxx
xxxxx: uh....wtf.. who are you?
casey: I'm casey
xxxxx: YOu don't look like what you are in the net. and you're a .........
casy: Yes I'm not a....
or
casey: are you .......
xxxxx: Im not , i don't know you and you keep bugging me , I'm calling the cops.

Well I'm pretty much of a skeptic you know. Can't trust THAT much on people here.
But it all changes when I really know the person, and the person knows me pretty well (in some aspects).
And no, I haven't opened up to people in here. Should I is the question.

I've learned that I can only take a few members seriously at all. Az is not making this stuff up. It's well written enough to sound like fiction, but it's not.
My avatar is me, really.

lets see...
I trust Az because I've been to Japan, and pretty much everything he's said has been spot on with my experiences. Along with enough pictures floating around that he'd have to really have no life to spends his days photoshopping himself into pictures of Japanese school children.
Kancho exists... we'll leave that at that...
user's real name? I have, so perhaps others do, perhaps they don't... I don't really care either way
users pictures- if people were faking their pictures they'd probably find some hotter pictures to post. As for most of the really hot female pictures that are posted, eh who cares? I'll never meet any of them anyway.
All in all, if this website and forum are all just an elaborate hoax and its perpitrator is someone fascinated by people fascinated with Japanese culture then its only real success has been keeping me entertained and wasting thousands of man hours worth of working time for many of us.
so who cares?

I'm thinking most of us are anonymous, people knew us by our user name and whatever.
Do you people really think that users wold put their real name.
Yes. What are you able to do with it, anyway? Most you can do with it in my case is looking up some picture made of me years ago somewhere on the internet.
Do you really trust I'm caseylim,I'm a guy and that picture posted by me is really me?
Sure I do. That said, I wouldn't be annoyed or even surprised if you turned out to be a 87 year old hermaphrodite from Kazachstan.
Do you really trust some users in this forum, e.g. that Jat teh man is really a guy? Does he reveal himself?
Indubitably. Why would Jay make it up? I mean, if you were to pretend you're a supermodel, fine. But this is Jay we're talking about here.
Do you think the pics they posted are really themselves?
Most users are good looking (relative to other internet pictures I've seen at least), but none of you are supermodels. I'm only having doubts about one, actually. And no, I'm not telling who.
This thread is made to question the truth and identity of this forum.
Lovely.
Do you believe Az's story?
I believe it may be spiced up/exaggerated a bit here or there for comedy effect, but I believe everything he says is true.

Do you really trust some users in this forum, e.g. that Jat teh man is really a guy? Does he reveal himself?
No, i think shes a little girl.
Do you think the pics they posted are really themselves?
I assume they are.
Do you believe Az's story?
Yes, i dont really have a choice. He might lie, but i assume he doesnt. I've never done a DNA test, i cant be sure my mother is actually my mother, but i assume she is. Ive only been to 8 countrys, i have no idea if the rest about 150 even exist, but i assume they do.
Let's put it this way.
I'll give nearly everyone the benefit of the doubt. If people are going to lie about their identity on the inernet, what difference does it make and why would most of them come up with so many common, everyday lives?
We've teachers, housewives, kids, computer geeks and retired folks here. Not exactly the jetset. I do usually doubt anyone who claims to be part of some elite group, especially ones whom I know are made up of people who'd not advertise or boast about their membership in that group. When that is the case, I just dismiss them and give what they say very little credence. Easy as that.
Honestly, why would I make up something like being thirty-noneofyourbusiness ( ;) ) single mother (albeit with an awesome boyfriend), having a 12-year-old daughter and my primary worries are about how I am going to get my daughter to and from school with a full-sized cello when school starts at 8 a.m. and I am normally at work at 5:30 a.m. and the bus driver won't let her carry it on the bus? If I were gonna make stuff up, I'd be 26, married not divorced, my husband would be a wealthy but grounded and kinky businessman; we'd have three beautiful children (two girls and a boy--Olivia, Nicholas and Alexa) and a huge house in an exclusive DC suburb; I'd have a personal trainer and a maid; I'd have an infinite collection of brocade corsets and would be a hot shot syndicated columnist who gets invited to White House press conferences. Oh, and all your bases would belong to me.

I believe what people say around here for the most part. They can be lying, but, I'd think they would come up with better background stories were that the case.. No offense to anyone, you're all lovely people :p It's not like it's dramatically affecting me if they are lying..

I personally don't care if people aren't who they say they are on the internet, it just doesn't matter because as has been stated before, it's not likely that I'm going to meet any of these people in real life (except LJustus for me, who lives pretty much down the street). I am who I say I am, what you see is what you get. What you see of me on the boards is how I am in real life.
As for Az, I don't care if the stories are true or not, he's a wonderful writer and I enjoy his editorials very much. I do believe that for the most part they are real, because life is too weird not to have s**t like that happen to you.

Well on a forum I really don't care who you are or anything
It is about peoples opinions and such
and humour
but if its on messenger
I tell people to tell me the truth
I talk to anyone and such
but if I think your lying(because keeping a lie going is hard and you might slip) I can be very invistigative and normally if its major I might figure it out
someone stopped talking to me because I kept telling them how their stories weren't holding (it had lots of holes)
I recently got somone that was telling me they were from britain to reveal their actual age and such
I might let it go for awhile but after a bit I can't stand it

Unless there is some chance the information will affect me, I usually take it as fact but remember where I got the information. If I'm talking to my friends about something, I'll just say I saw someone say on a forum... and then they can make their own judgement. If it is information that actually affects me I have to take into account where I got the information, who I got it from, etc. People over the internet are just like people you meet on the street. Would you trust one of them without having spent a good amount of time getting to know them? Now take into account that you cannot see emotions and expressions over the internet so getting to know people completely through text takes far longer than in person. You can make some judgement based on the things you see them doing on the internet, like what forum they browse, and things like that but really it just takes time... months... The best thing to do is go with what makes sense.

I do trust some people on the internet, and have even agreed to meet someone I met online in real life (and they turned out to be exactly who they said they were and really nice to boot). But, that was a descion made based on a lot of factors and for the most part, while I don't really give a f*ck if your telling the truth about who you are or not, I wouldn't say I trust any of you.
Although I belive Az. I've lived in Japan long enough that half of what he writes is just stuff I accept as normal now.

I do trust Az. In response to your reasons why you might not trust him, I'll go in order.
1. This is not the only site by a teacher in the JET program. And while Az may occasionally complain about a policy (like staying late while doing nothing), for the most part he isn't that negative towards the school. Just Japanese women and kanchoers. I've seen some far worse stuff on other JET sites, believe me. Lots of people complain about their jobs on the net; Az just does it in a way that amuses us all.
2. None of Az's students can speak or write English well enough to pull off this site. This site also has a pictures section, showing pictures of Az when he went to UC Davis. Not only would a Japanese student have no idea what UC Davis was, the would never be able to forge the photos so well. Also, there are other posters on here who know Az, some who are also in the JET program (like Pierrot.) If this was fake, everyone who claimed to know Az would have to be fake too. That's a lot of trouble to go to just so you can write some funny and occasionally touching editorials.
3. It's impossible for an acquaintance of Az's to be pretending to be him. If it was an acquaintance from the US, the would most surely get some of the details about Japan wrong and be called out by the other users on this forum who are from Japan. If they're fellow JETs, again, it would be difficult for them to fake all of the pre-JET information and pictures on the site.
For more evidence: Azrael isn't even his real name! And although it doesn't take too much effort to discover what his first name is, it's a common enough first name that if there was a fake Az, the real Az would never be affected by this site. Secondly, back on the old boards, Az posted a link to another message board's archive, where he had been posting during the process of breaking up with the Octopus Giver. This was not necessary to be posted, and would have been far too much effort for someone to fake.
And even if the .0001% chance of Az's site actually being fake is true... who gives a damn? It's entertainment, pure and simple. But again, for this to be true, it would require a lot of effort and time spent posting as about twenty different users on this forum.
And as far as trusting other people on this site: the only context I will ever communicate with people on this site, barring bizarre unforseen circumstances, is through the internet. So even if someone isn't who they say they are, the 13 year old girl is actually a 51 year old man... who cares? It's like RPing. That's who they are here, and just don't send them any money or anything.
Except for me. Send me lots of money. And pocky. I'm all out, and I need to buy real groceries.
Nikki

And that just about covers that.
One additional thing though - even if a Japanese person's English was good enough to write the editorials, there's NO WAY they could integrate fighting game slang and pop culture references like Adam West's Batman, Rocky and Bullwinkle, Super-Friends, et al.
Edit
Additionally, I'm really not exaggerating either. For example, the last conversation with Cherry Boy - that's exactly how it happened. I didn't put words in his mouth, he really did say stuff like "She's hot and she puts out...a lot" and "You have fucked her, right?"

I trust most everyone here, because as Kass said, if they were lying, why be mired in the mundane? Besides, forums with small userbases tend to create a place where facade and pretense fade, and more of a person's true self comes through. Besides, here is the first time I've ever had the chance to take being called "perplexing" as a compliment.

If one does not know how to sidestep, they both become monsters. Especially Nightmare since most of his best moves have vertical range.
Seung Mina gives a lot of people trouble for some reason...

Understandable circumstances then. I have never really competed in official tournaments but I'd love to try it one day. Especially with Tekken 5 and Guilty Gear (if possible...)
This is a grand hijack. But to cover my own ass... I trust everyone here as much as I really can over the internet. More trust points are added after a series of pictures or personal chats. Of course after the whole Mariko-san thing, one cannot be too careful.

Okay, when your opponent has a sword, and you don't, you're at a disadvantage. I hate Tekken. With a passion. With a negative passion that grows brighter than a million suns. It sucks. It's a matter of memorizing these 200-button combos and executing them, and I say screw that. If I wanted to play a mind-numbing game of memorization, I'd download Killer Instinct for an SNES emulator.
Errr, but yeah, I'll cream him in Soul Calibur one. And then I'll make a thread boasting about it. And then Az will cry on the forum's shoulder. And I will mock him.

Meh. Same flawed logic that most people who toss one of the best PS2 top tier(or damn close to it) characters aside use. :D
Tekken requires more skill than most games. Never knew that was a bad thing. Granted that it makes people more prone to button mash, but the game itself isn't a masher.

Indeed. Tekken isn't so bad. With Soul Calibur, it is easier to just do random things and win a battle. With Tekken, you screw up a move and the guy can come back with something twice as powerful.
If anything, Soul Calibur is more of a button masher's game than Tekken will ever be. Either way, both are good games.
What I was initially asking, though, was what difference is there between Soul Calibur Heihachi and Tekken Heihachi.

Okay, perhaps I'm just an old-fashioned type of guy, but I incredibly despise games with a huge learning curve. Games should be easy to learn, easy to stand a chance in, and fun to play even if you are up against a master. Tekken is about as far from that as you get. Personally I don't have the desire, nor do I have the time, to spend hundreds of hours pouring over moves, and how to do them, and then mastering their actual execution in practice, before playing against someone else at that skill level.
That's what makes Soul Calibur great. A master probably won't lose to a button masher, but they may very well get whoomped like I whooped Az (while I kicked his arse, it was more because he expected some semblance of the play style he was used to, while I just fool around with the game and don't try to go for the same three combos a dozen times). And that's fun. The only game I really play alone a lot on my PS2 is Golf, because that's just good clean fun, and I'm starting to get bored with that as well. The fun of games is in multiplayer, and I hate games where if I offer to play against someone, I will just whoop 'em flat out and make it boring.
And I don't like having to penalize myself to let the other person have fun, or get a handicap to be able to beat someone. Just not fun.
Go-go button mashing.

Allright. I have nothing more to say. Next time. We shall let our characters weapons do the talking. I'm actually looking forward to it, I haven't played competitive SC in a long time.
And I know how to deal with side-stepping. That was the one move I kept trying to do but it wouldn't come out, that they changed or took out or something.
I bought Tekken 5 because that's what the guys down here play. I never really got into Tekken, but T5 isn't bad. I still like Street Fighter much better though.
And I approve of this thread hijacking because the original thread wasn't much to begin with.
Pierrot le Fou
09-12-2005, 06:07 AM
It ain't hijacked, it was the continental drift of forum topics -- about how Az lied about his gaming ability to him trying to prove otherwise.
And yeah, you look forward to it, but if you practice hours a day until then instead of binking the wink-wink nudge-nudge that you-know-who said was a-okay, then I will just pull out a golf club and crush your skull without resorting to in-game weapons. 'cuz I don't have SC1 and haven't played for 2.5 years or so.
I'm personally psyched about SC3. I just got a PS2 about a month ago, and that is something I'm looking forward to, along with Winning Eleven 9. Soccer rules.
From what I remember, there's not a huge difference between the Tekken Heihachi and SC2 Heihachi. The only disadvantage was that his reach was shorter than the others, which is only natural since he's fighting without a weapon. But once you get used to that, he can do some damage, especially if you mastered him in Tekken.
I know Namco and Capcom made a game together recently- which got me thinking, it must be ridiculous to see Ryu in Soul Caliber. 3-D hadoken? Spinning in mid-air? If they could pull it off somehow, that'd be something to watch. Compared to that, putting Heihachi/Link/Spawn in SC is a joke.

I can see where you're coming from. It just doesn't click in my brain, because I'm of the belief that both easy games and games with huge learning curves should exist. If the fighting game market was made up of all easy to pick up games, it would suck for the people that love to master complex games and have intense competition. Tekken is for those people. Besides, Tekken can still be fun for begginers. Hell, with the exception of my friends that hate not being good at things, most people still have fun button mashing and losing or going up against other button mashers in a Tekken game.
Personally I don't have the desire, nor do I have the time, to spend hundreds of hours pouring over moves, and how to do them, and then mastering their actual execution in practice, before playing against someone else at that skill level.
Some people do. Some people pick things up extremely fast as well. It's not fair to leave them without a game to master just because a lot of people don't like it. :D

Wouldn't be the first time Ryu was in 3D. It would be the first time in a good game though. It wouldn't be hard to pull off, aside from tweaking him enough to fit SC style play, although I doubt Ryu would do well in a SC game. Either that or they'd make him way too powerful. Okay, most of the people I know who play video games, and who have throughout my life played video games, have been pretty big geeks about it. In other words, they'd spend hours mastering the things to the point where it was no longer fun to play with them. If there was ever a game that I found that I was better than them in, they'd borrow/buy it, learn it, and then whoop my arse constantly.
And that's no fun.
The games that I have tons of fun with are the games that I played with my friend John. We were coworkers and both started playing these games at relatively the same time, so we both didn't have to worry about the other running home and mastering the game, and could just learn at our own pace and take turns kicking the other's arse until the other one learned how to beat the annoying moves. And that's cool to me.
Losing constantly because you don't live long enough to learn anything absolutely sucks. And button mashing does NOT work in Tekken. It just makes you get hit for 1.5 times damage instead of the regular 1.

Meh. Don't blame it on the game. Like I said, both are needed. There are more easy to pick up quickly fighters than ones that require alot to master. I'd say it's a fair trade. Tekken has earned its stay, even if it's not a very new player friendly game. :D

You know that. I know that. Most mashers don't know that. I've seen buttons mashers having a blast playing Tekken and other games. It's just a case of who finds what fun.
If you don't find it fun, then don't play it(which I'm guessing you don't, just making a statement). That's why there's hundreds of games in each genre. So nobody gets left out.

Capcom actually scrapped a 3-D Street Fighter game from what I've heard- I just don't think Capcom 2D fighters would do well in 3D. Rival school was fun, but that was something different altogether.
I put my money on SC Heihachi as well, because Tekken/Soul Caliber isn't too different, and Tekken combos work great once you get them going. Street Fighter has a different combo system too.
And Spawn was decent compared to Necrid- honestly, I'd bitchslap Todd McFarlene just for that, then apologize profusely.

Capcom actually scrapped a 3-D Street Fighter game from what I've heard
It was called Capcom Fighting All Stars. It featured several SF characters (Ryu, Chun, Guile maybe), some RS characters, Strider Hiryu, Haggar from Final Fight (!!), and three new characters. The game seemed to make it pretty far (there were gameplay vids released) but then it got canned.
One of the new characters made for All Stars, Ingrid, was salavaged and used for Capcom Fighting Jam/Evolution.
I tried SF3 in the arcade, and never liked them that much. Personally I believe Marvel vs Capcom series was the best Street Fighter game because it had
1. Marvel characters like Spider-man, Cpt. America, Dr.Doom, and others.
2. It was easy enough for button mashers to pick up and be pretty good
3. Yet the advanced players would make a killing at it once they figured out the game.
SF3 on the other hand dug into different aspects of the system, which I hated. I stand by my opinion that the sytem was perfected with Alpha/MvC series.

It's just a shame Marvel decided to make a fighting game with EA. I've seen some screenshots of it, and while the graphics look decent, graphics doesn't matter much with fighting games. I still play SF2 from time to time...

They need Blaze from Streets of Rage in a game. And Roo.
And then toss in a hidden character from Primal Rage and let me play as him, and allow Ryu to dragon punch into my gaping jaws so he can be swallowed and crapped out.
What was the name of that early 90's fighter where you had a weapon (sword, chainsaw, axe) and could lop off various enemy body parts over the course of the fight until they died? Bloodsport or something?
And then toss in some of the Mortal Kombat characters. Because they were fun.

And btw, I'm also looking forward to SC3. I like that they're finally including a customization mode to make characters. It's supposed to be pretty damn deep for a fighting game.
As of right now, they don't plan on giving it online play though. I find that to be a very odd/bold move. My only complaint, from what I've heard of SC3 so far. Actually, it's not really even a complaint, as I wouldn't play it online anyways. Just odd.

I know what you mean... I'd love to be able to play SC3 online. I can't think of one fighter that has gone online on the PS2. But then there is the problem with freezing and such during gameplay. I know it could destroy a Tekken match...
Either way I'd probably not play online either. I have all the means to do so and I still neglect that opportunity.
I think an online fighting game is not too hard given the current technology, even on PS2 :D I do know that next Dead or Alive is online capable, but I never cared for that game. And some Xbox fighting games too, but I don't like Xbox either.
Of course, with fighting games lags should never, ever happen. In an environment where seconds makes a huge difference, lag/disconnection would be a game-killer.
I don't think I'll play online either as well. It would be cool if they would do an online tournament where people can just login and fight, while others watch. It would be nice if they offered, at least.

SC3 is just sitting in the back at my workplace... we're not allowed to release it yet.... I don't even know if we've been given a date for it's street release yet.... it's just sitting there, calling to me like a siren... haunting me... *eye twitch* I MUST OBEY! YARG! *Leaps on his supervisor and kills him* Now to free the soul caliber.....O_<

Liar. SC3 ships in October. Game companies don't send out new games until it's days, maybe a week before they are out. Besides, when the production is complete on a game, they go 'gold'- meaning that they are ready to start producing the game like few weeks before the actual release. How can a game like SC3, which hasn't gone gold yet, be out already?
You can lie about other things, but not something like that!

No seriously, it's just sitting there. Go to your local BestBuy and ask the guy to look up Soul Caliber III. It'll pop up as "In Stock", but it won't have a "Street Date" entry.
Suuuuuuure. Bring me hard evidence and then we'll talk. Hell, I'll even put the evidence on gaming websites and make you a 15 second celebrity.

I don't even know where you live... and if I had a hard copy for evidence, I'd probably be zoned out by now playing it. I'm telling you just go to Best Buy, ask them to look up Soul Caliber III (Careful on the spelling, and capitalization) and it'll have a date that it was shipped in (at mine it was like a month ago), and it will have an empty street date.

MvC1/2 were definitely not button-masher friendly. Especially at high levels. Strider/Wolvy or double War Machine were sickeningly good in 1, and MvC2 is dominated by the big 4 - Magneto, Cable, Sentinel, Storm.
Citizen, which is better, CvSNK1 or 2? I prefer the Capcom system so the first one for me... I hated SNK combo systems, though they have some good characters.
Well, I'm not Citizen, but I like CvS1 better than 2. 1 is really simple, and 2 does have more stuff...but 2 also has way too many stupid, broken, abuseable tactics ("Hi, my name is Sagat...I'm going to C.FP you now...") that make it unfun.
What was the name of that early 90's fighter where you had a weapon (sword, chainsaw, axe) and could lop off various enemy body parts over the course of the fight until they died? Bloodsport or something?
TimeKillers. It was pretty bad.

Compared to previous incarnations of Street Fighter, I consider it to be a bit more button friendly. But, 2D games are not generally really good button mashers, as the execution of the techniques would involved some joystick twisting in addition to hammering the buttons. Do consider that as long as they know how to do the combo and unleash it at the right time they can do some mad damage.

CvS1 WAS simpler. And Sagat has been uneven before as well. he's tall and fast, and Tiger Uppercut does some spectacular damage, except that once you blocked it, his back is completely open for kancho :p

Oh wait I remember now - it was linked from a friend's friend site.
I joined because everyone here seems to be close to what they are in real life, which is pretty cool. No one seems to be pretending to be who they're not, so I figured my role as World Dominator fits in nicely.
ooops i'm not talking what this is really about instead of about video games..
how rude of me.
Anyone remember the MvC hidden characters? if you didn't lose a round or used up all your urm.. partner attacks or whatever you call then you get to fight secret characters. For the love of me i used to know em all but I can't remember any of me...

You're forgetting Doom. Cable/Doom is enough with a 3rd person to get meter. Cable/Spiral/Doom for the cheap lockdown win. Come to think of it, Doom was only there for lockdown tactics, so I guess he may not count. But I'd say that those were the big four for pointman for a rushdown style of play, which is only good because not a lot of people found a way to defend against it.
As for CvS, 1 was TOO simple, and the movesets were too limited to allow for multiple playstyles to come into effect. CvS2 has so much depth, that even standard C-groove players stand a chance if they know what they're doing.
Yeah. Exactly.

Rachel Summers was in some game for the... god, Saturn? Or Dreamcast? Friend of mine had one of the two running on the same TV as an Atari 2600 at a recent games day at his place... it was a Marvel vs Capcom thing, but I don't know which number.
And Soul Calibre, I prefer Taki. I hate fighting games, but I can usually win against other people with her. She's been my favourite since, oh, I was working back at McDonalds in 96-98, and she was the closest thing I got to a real, available woman.
Um... well, you know, in that whole she-doesn't-exist kinda way. That first game in the arcade was a wonderful thing.
Yeah. Exactly.

That would be a splendid idea were I wearing pants. And if we had a couch. The only place to sit in the house with some sort of back support/that isn't on the floor is the toilet.
My girlfriend has declared me an おっさん (old man) because I walk out on the veranda for a smoke break wearing nothing but a smile (and boxers).

Doom used to be popular a few years ago, but you can shut him down way too easily, and his offense isn't that great. Some people still stick with the Strider/Doom trap, but overall he's fallen over the years. People are talking about Spiral again now because the guy who won the world championships did so with Spiral. But really, that's just him.
Magneto/Storm/Psylocke used to be a big team, but with the rise of Sentinel Psy's fallen off over the years. Captain Commando assist gets used a lot, especially in Cable/Sent/Commando teams. Commando as a character is weak, but the idea is you win before both Cable and Sent die.
On CvS2, it would seem like there's more depth, considering how much more stuff it has over CvS1, but in some ways it doesn't. C.FP, C.FP, roll super, C.FP, repeat for great justice. And roll-cancelling broke the game. It gave some characters the ability to better compete (Ken rose up a few ranks thanks to RC funky kick) but the big boys (Sagat, Blanka, etc) still dominate. A-Sakura becomes an evil wench thanks to roll-cancelling, and if you're playing against A-Sak and you're in P, S, or K groove...you are FUCKED. ShoShoSho for the win.

I consider Doom as the lite version of Magneto. Their moves have some similarities but Magneto just kills. Spiral can be quite effective though, given that she can easily lash six hits in a row by dancing swords or just medium punch.

I liked how CvS1 had both Capcom and SNK system, so there was more variety, and for someone like me who's more used to the Capcom system I couldn't get attached to CvS2. I guess the argument could go either way- but from what I know, Capcom did the first one, SNK did the second, and somehow Capcom came up with the better game.

Capcom did both CvS1 and 2. The one SNK did was SvC Chaos, which was terrible.
CvS2 had all the tools, but somehow they just didn't come together right. The game rewards cheap, abuseable tactics, which is boring.

You're right, got that one confused. I never really dug SvC Chaos or CvS2.
Street Fighter Alpha 3 for the PS1 had the best special features, stuff like World Tour mode, and extensive endings for every characters. I remember when I finally managed to beat MvC2 in the arcade, I was screaming for blood- there was no goddamn ending!

Oh hell, this isn't going to suddenly get back on topic, is it?
At the end of the day, even the people who are being honest, aren't exactly being 'honest' (depending on how you want to look at it). On any given thread, everyone tends to take a particular aspect of their personality (whichever one seems most appropriate at the time) and uses it to make their point. See the editorials for reference - Az uses the particularly zany part of his personality to write them. Based upon that, somebody reading them might form an image of who he is, which in all likelihood is pretty far removed from the reality.
Edit: Remember also, the best lies are 90% truth. Even the people you think you 'know', aren't necessarily that person. Of course, I apply this same logic to everybody I meet.

I'm a big fan of Obot64's CvS2 vids. Besides including hillarious arcade commentary, he has a lot of vids featuring lower tier characters. VDO's Raiden was a fucking beast, I think I saw the tourney vid he had against Wong? Nevertheless, it got me playing CvS2 (on console) again with some friends for a while.
