This is a farewell thread... I'm quitting.
I lost interest in sharing my opinions & discussing with people on the net. For several days, I have been writing replies, or even doing some
research for them, only to subsequently erase them.
I thought: Is this really necessary? :Some posters hold stances similar to mine, and argue for them with greater vigour and zeal than I usually muster.
Is it going to change something? Someone's pitiful little mind? Is is worthwhile to discuss issues over the 'net, and waste hours doing so? It takes up a lot of time to properly engage in discussions, and gets tedious , esp. if the other party is thick..
Sure, I might affirm my own beliefs and stances in discussions with other
people, but, that can be accomplished in a more pleasant manner, e.g
going to pub on on friday night, and having a debate with my friends* over glasses of wine, or mugs of beer.
Also, in the upcoming months, I'll have to concentrate on my studies,
so I'll rather waste whatever little free time I am going to have with more healthy(exercise) or enjoyable(reading)activties
It's been a nice time, Azrael's editorials & some stories are interesting to read,
and I'm sure I am going to periodically check O9 for new work , perhaps once per month.
So, I'll uncharacteristically wish you all good luck, and I
hope that the more ignorant members of 09 fora end up
afflicted with more brains and broader worldviews, by virtue
of being forced to defend their views online.
