Wow the Green Goblin looks like a masked ninja warrior riding a snowboard. Venem loooks awesome as always, but I don't remember the Sandman. Exaclty where was this villan in the animated series?

#1: Sandman - Kinda lame, but he's the minor villain.
#2: Is that supposed to be Green Goblin 2, Hobgoblin, or someone else? - Probably lame (and we already had a Goblin movie =/ )
#3: Venom - Lame without Carnage

No Carnage by the third movie = epic fail.

Carnage came well after Venom in the comics. Venom had lots of development before Cleatus turned up.

Sandman is a classic Spiderman enemy, been around since the 60's. Was a hero for a while, back to a villian.

The green goblin this time is Harry. To say any more would be a major spoiler.

Sandman: Looks good enough, I can't really complain.

Green Goblin II (I assume): WTF?

Venom: The texture detail makes him look really cool, but I keep thinking the introduction of the symbiote and Venom in the same movie will make it feel really convoluted and rushed.

I know. But wasn't Venom's story officially retconned to say that Venom spawned from Carnage?

At any rate, it's not like any of the movies have been taken directly from the comics. So it really doesn't matter who came first. And I just prefer Carnage as a villain. Even if Venom is more well-developed (because in a movie, that's not going to matter nearly as much, anyways).

Retcon? Not that I've heard of.

Venom was always first, then Carnage, then Toxin.

Carnage would also be too violent for a Spiderman movie, being a psychopathic mass murderer.

I'd also say the symbiote suit will be introduced differently.

These are leaked game models BTW.

If anyone wants the Harry Green Goblin II spoiler, I'll PM it.

For the record, the only experience w/ Spiderman characters I have is from the animated series in the 90s. I haven't read the comics or anything.

I have no idea how they'll fit everyone in...unless the movie is directed by Peter Jackson and turns out to be of epic length.

Maybe they'll feature Venom briefly at the end and trail off to set up for the fourth movie. But, I probably wouldn't like it too much if they just focused on the Green Goblin and Sandman. Especially not a Green Goblin that looks more like a normal snowboarder than a villain.

Carnage is a pretty shitty 1 dimensional villain and yeah it does matter who comes first.

Last time I heard Harry isn't "Officially" the green goblin yet in this one and he isn't a major villain.

Also the latest trailer is airing on Thursday with some show on MTV.

Oh, did this just officially come out? Huh. I found out a month or so ago while capping some scenes of Spiderman 3. (From the trailer.)

1. Sandman is a minor villian, but maybe this'll be his leap to the big time. Nah, I don't believe it, either. But he is an interesting character. I'm curious to see how he'll be portrayed.

2. Green Goblin II. Huh. I won't say much more than that. Oh, and a, "WTF?!?!" for the costume.

3. Venom, how I love/loathe thee... On one hand, this is one of the coolest villians ever in my book. On the other hand, I just want someone to kill the bastard already. It depends on how he's portrayed for me. If he's being smart, then awesome; angsty and whiny, off him. I hope he's done well in this film or it's going to ruin the whole thing for me.

As for Carnage... I love this guy. Y'know, it's cool to see villians with personalities and concerns and worries and whatnot. Makes 'em more human, even if they're not really. But Carnage is pure insanity. No worries, cares, concerns other than mass destruction, death, and havoc. It's a change from the personable villians. Those you can talk to or get them talking, maybe change their minds about things, relate to them or have them relate to you. Not Carnage. There's no talking to that guy.

If they do a fourth movie, I'd like to see him brought it to serve as a foil to both Venom and Spiderman.

Mind you, this all pure conjecture on my part. I'm not a Spiderman scholar.

EDIT:

On a sidenote, does anyone have a pic of Spidey's new black costume?

Brock isn't Venom anymore, so...

That I know. But he (Venom + whatever host) still pulls the angst card now and then. Of course, maybe I shouldn't read the comics once every so many months... I missed the entire Toxin story, gah.

As I said, not a scholar. Infrequent reader and debater, really.

This is what I was talking about before

Columbia Pictures has announced a "road block" presentation across Viacom brands and on CBS on Thursday for the new trailer for Spider-Man 3.

The trailer, which runs two and a half minutes, will debut at approximately 10 p.m.

The television networks airing the new trailer include BET, CBS, Comedy Central, Logo, MTV, MTV2, Spike TV and VH1, with each supporting the event with custom promotions both on-air and online.

A total of 14 online destinations from Viacom's networks are supporting the airing of the trailer, including AddictingGames.com, AddictingClips.com, BET.com, MTV.com, IFILM.com, Nick.com, ComedyCentral.com, GameTrailers.com, LOGOonline.com, Neopets.com, SpikeTV.com, The-N.com, VH1.com and Xfire.com.

Immediately following the television premiere, a high-definition version of the trailer will be available exclusively on MTV Networks' IFILM.com.

"The Spider-Man franchise appeals to audiences of all ages and we wanted to find a special partner that would reach Spidey fans everywhere," said Valerie Van Galder, President of Domestic Marketing for the Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group. "This is not only event television, but it's event online programming and Viacom and CBS have an umbrella of world renowned brands that were a perfect match for our movie online, on cable and on network television. We couldn't be more excited to launch this new Spider-Man 3 trailer in this innovative way."

Columbia also provided the following synopsis of the film:

"In Spider-Man 3, based on the legendary Marvel Comics series, Peter Parker has finally managed to strike a balance between his devotion to M.J. and his duties as a superhero. But there is a storm brewing on the horizon. As Spider-Man basks in the public's adulation for his accomplishments, Peter becomes overconfident and starts to neglect the people who care about him most. His newfound self-assuredness is jeopardized when he faces the battle of his life against two of the most feared villains ever, Sandman and Venom, whose unparalleled power and thirst for retribution threaten Peter and everyone he loves."

Green Goblin looked like a stupid robot and now this... A ninja-like snowboarder <.< kinda lame... And it would be much better if Venom would look more "organic".
