is freakn expensive... occassionally i like a duvel grimburgen pilsner urquell etc... but these things are fawkn ¥300 to ¥700 a bottle... Now normally because I'm a metro I prefer light low calorie beers but sometimes I want a nice tasting beer...
Sapporo. They do all their international outsourcing with Czech companies so you know it's gotta be good.
I prefer Kirin Ichiban over Sapporo. Sapporo tastes a bit dry for my taste. Oh, I've heard Yebisu is really good while being a bit more pricey than other beers, but haven't seen Yebisu in the states.
rameek, I'm simply amazed that they will deal such beers in Japan, and if they happen to be on tap- I will more than be willing to pay $10 for a pint.

So that means a pint of Guiness draught costs one nut and half the other?.

You can order microbrews by 'cool' takyuubin. I'll post sites when I get back home. It's 5000 yen for 12 bottles, but you can get IPAs, stouts, ales, and other real beer.

Yeah, Guiness in Japan is quite expensive.
I like Yebisu and Yebisu Black, as well as Kirin. I don't really like Asahi that much.

If I could get my hands on some Amstel Light that would be nice....
I can drink almost any japanese beer it doesnt bother me kirin is probably the best of them... but there are days I want to have something that taste exceptional...
Does anyone know the name of the bar in Shibuya called ¥200 bar near I think outback or some american type restaraunt?

Regular Amstel Beer is better though, I think. They got Heineken over there? Probably so. Rules as well.

I think it's called Coins bar or something... but I could be mistaken. I'm pretty sure I know what bar you are talking about.. is it opposite Tokyu Hands? Beside some reggae/hip hop album store.
And yeah... kinda near Outback Steakhouse.
Oh yeah, and from my experience. A pint of guiness usually costs about the 1000 mark. sometimes a bit more. I'm not a big beer drinker though. It makes me feel too bloated >.> Can't go dancing if I feel bloated!

The first beer I ever had in Japan was Asahi Super Dry on tap, and it stuck with me.

to be honest dude... it looks like a shit-hole... but I haven't actually been inside. From memory, it's in the 1B of some building... im always skeptical about bars in basements... but it could be good... and certainly cheap
give us a holler sometime. I'd be keen to check it out too :)

Most definitely... I will look into trying to go there maybe next weekend... The thing that sucks is the train situation... Have to start early for sure!

It's actually a good place. We used to go there last semester to get drunk before going out to the clubs all night.
rameek: It's pretty easy to find ... Maybe a map would help? (http://maps.google.co.jp/maps?f=q&hl=ja&q=%E6%B8%8B%E8%B0%B7%E5%8C%BA%E5%AE%87%E7%94%B0%E5 %B7%9D%E7%94%BA36-1&ie=UTF8&z=17&ll=35.660504,139.699659&spn=0.007915,0.010933&om=1&iwloc=A)

Kirin Akiaji (get them while they are still available)
Yebisu
Sapporo Kuro Raberu
Come to think of it, because Sapporo brews Yebisu, they may be the best brewery in Japan.
