I thought that was pretty entertaining.

I have a question for you Az; you seem to have a relationship with some of your students, A kind of bond I have see in american schools, between american teachers and students.

Do Japanese teachers have relationships with their students similar to ours? How about similar to the relationship you have with your students?

The Ghost World one.

It didn't hurt that badly, but it's still a movie I could have gone my whole life without seeing.

Possibly/probably.

They do, of course, have to maintain some kind of distance, for professional reasons. But given how much these teachers/students are at school, the teachers probably see the kids more than their own families do.

When the last sannensei class graduated, it hit one of my English teachers kinda hard. She was a homeroom teacher for the sannensei, and they were a great class.

And lots of times, graduates will drop by the old school their first year after graduation to say hi to all their old teachers and I guess give them an update on where they are/what they're doing.

And, Az, if you don't mind my asking, have you fucked your current girlfriend? The answer plagues me night and day. I can sleep no longer.

That's something students never seem to do where I live.
If they do come, then most of the time not because they want to see their old teachers (rather old classmates)
The same thing goes with meeting one of your teachers outside of school - they sometimes barely greet you
Of course the "not-being-friendly" doesn't apply to everyone ^^

On the other side , the foreign assistant teachers here ( most of them being american) would always talk with you .
Is this kind of common in the usa , or is it just my weird school ?

Normally there's no bond/relationship between teachers and students big enough to talk about
A situation 3 years ago comes to my mind : one of my teachers left school ( I think he started a teaching-project somewhere in south america ) and everyone in class was more or less like "oh, he left, well ....whatever"

I was on vacation, and now high school has started back up, so I won't be on nearly as much.

I must be odd then. I came back to visit with prior teachers occassionally. I ran into my 6th grade teacher when in high school, my 5th grade teacher after high school (he was dating one of my friends mother's at the time), my junior high shop teacher while in high school, and a couple of my high school teachers a couple of years after.

I was amazed you didn't recognize that hand gesture, though, Az.
That's gotta be one of the oldest and most common hand gestures for intercourse across the planet.
Right alongside sticking your right hand's index finger through a circle made with your left hand's index finger and thumb

Ghost World is good. I've heard the comic's even better.

Oh, and I also don't know why some women don't like movies with explosions in them. The 60's Batman movie's a classic. "Some days you just can't get rid of a bomb!"

I think students talking to teachers outside school depends on wether they like their teachers or not. I mean, a lot of my friends went back to the old elementary and jr. high school to talk to the teachers. heck, they even dragged me along. Well, not really unwillingly, but it is sort of... bothersome to go all the way just to talk to the teachers again. it was fun, though. ^___^
