Okay, since some of you clearly recognize who Seki Tomokazu is (who is, by the way, an awesomely funny and cool guy!), I was wondering how many other seiyuu (voice actor) fans are around here? Who's your favorite Japanese voice actor and why? Do you ever watch anime/listen to dramas just for the cast, regardless of whether or not you like the story? I know I do!
It's too hard to me to choose just one favorite, but my top male seiyuu is Takahashi Hiroki; I just love the way he can change his voice so much for different roles! How can such a big guy play Kikumaru Eiji from Prince of Tennis? What really pushed him over the edge as my favorite was his perfomance as Hisoka in the Hunter x Hunter musicals; he was absolutely hilarious! His Folgore from Konjiki no Gash Bell!! and Kenji from School Rumble are very entertaining as well ^^ Other guys I love include Morikubo Shoutarou (especially as Ginji in Get Backers), Chiba Susumu, Seki Tomokazu (duh!), Hiyama Nobuyuki, Hoshi Souichirou, Ishida Akira, Okiayu Ryoutarou, Inoue Kazuhiko, Midorikawa Hikaru, Sakurai Takahiro, Yamaguchi Kappei...the list just goes on and on!
My favorite female seiyuu was and always will be Niiyama Shiho, who is no longer with us ;_; You'll remember her as Seiya/Sailor Star Fighter from Sailor Moon. Close in second is Minagawa Junko; I love her boy's voice, but oddly enough I really enjoy her super-feminine voice (found as the class president in Mahou Sensei Negima!) as well. I usually don't like typical female voices for the most part, they're almost always irritatingly high and annoying (ever heard Kugimiya Rie's normal speaking voice? ow!). My favorite female seiyuu are inevitably the otokoyaku (women who play guys) such as Ogata Megumi, Paku Romi, Takayama Minami, Saiga Mitsuki, Kaida Yuki, Takeuchi Junko, Sakamoto Chika, and so on.
Tell me about your favorite seiyuu! ^_^
