I have been making raps for a buddy of mine named Marcus, aka KO. Only problem is, I have like, a bunch of differant names I could use. PLease help. His rap group is call the Wolf pack. With that in mind I was thinking of being called
1) White Fang
It's a wolf, and I am white, so I figure it works.
2)Mad Max
My name is Max, and I figure I could fit in that I am the road worrior in there.
3) Payne
As in Max Payne. Simple, yet elligant. That is the one that Marcus always calls me.
4) Destro
Great GI Joe bad guy. Metal head. Totally ill.


Please help! Which one sounds the best? Which rapper would you go see, if you had never hear him? Help is great

Do I have any suggestions? Yes. Granted that posting them would make my first suggestion a moot point. So, you're on your own for now.

Given that most rap names suck to begin with, my suggestions are fine. And what is your experience with the biz Citizen? DO have any dealings with record companies or anything like that? Marcus has a coupkle records out and it's sold in a bunch of shops in Seattle. If you got anything for real, then drop it. Otherwise choose from what I have.

I fail to see how my experiance in the record business or the fact that many names do, in fact, suck has anything to do with my suggestion that you get something that's good and/or original.

You don't have to be a record company exec. to know what sounds good and what doesn't. :(

For the record, I have no experiance. Also, as I still stand by my statement that giving a suggestion would be pointless, I guess I'll just choose from your list.

White Wolf: Adding white because you're white is lame. It = lewz
Mad Max: Maybe. If you're a badass looking guy with a tan and muscles, yes. If you're a scrawny white guy, no. Leaning more towards no though, because the whole "zomg the movie guy was named Max and so am I!!1" thing is kinda lame.
Destro: Would be the best, but I'm pretty damn sure it's taken.
Payne: Wins buy default, unless you fit the Mad Max profile.

I am a tan guy with muscles, and since KO already calls me Payne, that is my most likely choice. Pretty sure Destro isn't taken. White fang was just a gag type name, never really intended on using it, you have to eplane it to people, and that already means it can't be used.

With a first name like Max... if your last name is short, you don't need a new rap name, go original and if you blow up we won't have to hear about how you are changing your name to get away from your rather bad first rap name.

Pardon the joke, but you could always go as Max Power.
Payne is kind of lame and you open yourself up to alot of stock phrases when it comes to freestyling against someone else.

Names are given to you, you don’t make them for yourself because in freestyle they will eat you alive with things like 'you think your dup cose you gave yourself a dup name' (yeah yeah I suck at raping, ha-ha jokes over, move on people) so earn a name and until then just use max, my advise to you.

For record I’m called the 'Snatcher' basketball court in my neighborhood and everyone played with. I got the name as I get all the rebounds and snatch the balls from people (sounds dirty doesn’t it :D) when they are dribbling.

And related to the topic. I kind of like Payne. Sounds like a rapper type name, I suppose. Mad Max seems overused, and White Fang reminds me of the Jack London book. You say Destro is from GI Joe, and while I suppose that is cool for guys, GI Joes always remind me of Barbies. I'm assuming that as a rapper, you don't particularly wish to be associated with Barbies.
