what would it be?
Personally I would forget stairway to heaven. Its not a bad song but all the people I know that play the guitar can play it and do play it. Its not fun sitting through a rehersal and hearing it 6 times. Most the people who play it also know the words. Most musicians are musicians for a good reason. They can't sing. at all.

This is the song that doesn't end. Yes it goes on and on my friend. Some people started singing it not knowing what it was and they'll continue singing it forever just because.. The White Stripes' 'Passive Manipulation'.
Thirty-two seconds of feminazi bullshit propaganda.
It goes something like this;
'Women, listen to your mothers, don't just succumb to the wishes of your brothers. Take a step back take a look at one another. You need to know the difference... between a father and a lover."
Repeated over. And over. And over.
I don't just want to forget it, I want it to be destroyed and the lady who sang it dead.

You honestly took the words right out of my mouth.
"Time of Your Life" by Green Day is also up there as well, just because it's a horrible song that, yet, is used for EVERY graduation.

If they played other songs then yes it would be a good song. I sometimes just jam during rehersals. I play tank! or maybe real folk and take the a train and anything by charlie parker or mingus or any bebop or blues really but they just kill that song. There are other rock songs out there.

I would have to say just about everything MTV has played since about 1998 or so.
Oh-and "Building A Mystery" by Sarah McLachlan. I had to hear that song at a job for about a year. I haven't heard it since about 1998, and I can still recall the song, and find myself humming it every now and again.

Smooth by Carlos Santana. (The one with the Matchbox 20 guy.)
"Gimme your heart, get real, or else forget about it"
I'm not exactly sure what he says there, but it something to that effect, I can still hear the drum lick, and following guitar notes.
It was an average riff in the beginning... Then i heard it over, and over, and over.
I worked at tower the year that came out. And everytime (read: ALL THE TIME) I was working, it was playing. Clockwork, every 20 minutes... unbelievable, Santana needs to die, all of matchbox 20 needs to die, and everyone that has or thinks about guest appearing on a Santana album needs to die, a horrible 1000 flaming death...

I would forget Savage Garden - Truly, madly, deeply not because I hate but because I love it, so I would like to forget it so I could listen to it for the first time again

Listen to Santana's early stuff; it's way better than the generic crap he's making now. I highly recommend their debut album.
As for one song I want to erase from existance... that stupid annoying Gwen Stefani song I hear wherever I go. I don't know the title, but it's the one where she sings in an especially annoying, squeaky voice. Whoever gave the go ahead to record that song needs to be pummled. And anyone who actually likes that song needs to have their head checked. It's just godawful.

By FAR the most annoying song I'd LOVE to forget is "Little Satellite" - Don't ask...just don't ask.
Beep, beep, little satellite
say that he'll be home tonight
Beep, beep, little satellite
say he'll make me feel alright
Beep, beep, little satellite
please, please, shine your guidin' light
so bright say that he'll be at home tonight

The most annoying song is the song Valley Girl by Frank Zappa or Moon Zappa or something... while I agree that this song does accurately describe a large majority of girls from the San Fernando Valley, this song does NOT belong at the beginning of a 45 minute long work CD when you're about to work an eight hour shift! Not cool. Not cool at all.
I Touch Myself by the Divinyls. Living proof that even my dead dog could get a recording contract. Made my senior year of college auditory hell.
There's a song by Mylo that makes me want to shoot the fucking radio every time it's on.

Your kidding right?

Oh, I don't blame you, not in the slightest. I only know the name because my brother loves the "song". :(
Actually, after reading this, it seems to fit better in the newly christened Entertainment forum.
Why? It's song you wish to forget, so it's not exactly entertainment. ;)

Not even sure this is a "song" but my daughter got these toys from the next door neighbor kid (daughter turned 2).
These things have this mellow jazzy sounding "vocal" that goes "badu badu" everytime the toy is picked up. Now the first couple times it sounds kinda cool and quirky...but there's no off switch and it's a sound you just can't get out of your head. Both the wife and I are slowly going insane because that sound is just so embedded into our heads.
Key note to any soon to be or newly anointed parents. For all toys that take batteries or make sounds, be absolutely sure there is at least an ON/OFF switch...and volume control is even better. There is nothing like getting your freak on late at night when the little rug runners are sleeping and having the ghost toy chorus go off...almost as bad as a ringing phone or the doorbell for killing the mood.
but if we're talking actual, real, published songs...Too Said Fred's I'm too Sexy. ARGH...(or just about anything by the Wiggles...who are great for my kids, but when I'm singing "teddy bear picknick" to myself at work, it's too much)

Evanescence, not any particular song, ALL OF THEM. Just remove the whole band and anything leaving traces of it's craptastic existance.

who sang that?
Any cover of "Under Pressure." Especially the one by Chemical Romance. I just didn't like the band before, but now I just hate them after I heard them butcher that song.
