IIRC Jessica Chobot over at IGN wrote an article about my site. I'm not a member over there so I can't access it, and digging through my mailbox to find her email to me could take the better part of the day. Could anyone who is a member copy and paste the text of the article here? I'd appreciate it.

Let me see if I can be a memeber and find out for you, AZ.

IGN, isn't that a game site?

Nevermind, I found it in my mailbox. Thanks anyway though. :)

Post it here anyway! More press! I hope she slanders you.

"Azrael is so guldurned pompous with his galavanting around Japan. I found his website to be a right bore, and counter to my victorian sensibilities. He should be put in the rack for public humiliation, which coincidentally is what his website amounts to."

Its IGN they don't have to slander you. Their presence is enough to insult the interweb.

A'ight, just for you...

Any Tom, Dick, Harry or Jane can have their own website. Just go to Livejournal, MySpace, or your local community college to learn HTML, click a few buttons and there you go - a little corner of the net just for you.

And therein lies the problem...90% of blogs suck harder than a Hoover. Out of the 10% you have left, 9% are decently digestible. Then, if you're lucky, you manage to stumble across that 1% which are pure genius.

Outpost Nine is that 1%.

A blogger who travels the internet under the guise of Azrael, has done what a lot of us wish we could do (or at least, what I wish I could do). He relocated to Japan. More specifically, Kyoto, as part of the Japanese Exchange and Teaching Program [JET].

Currently an assistant language teacher at three Japanese Jr. High Schools, his adventures amongst Japan's youth consist mainly of "kancho-blocking" (all you Naruto fans know what I'm talkin' about), and "dick-dodging". While these two subjects do make for some decent chuckles, one wouldn't think that said blogger could create 20+ columns dedicated to getting fingers up your bum. However, due to his piquant wit and engaging writing style, he manages to produce quite a toothsome read.

Seriously. His blog consists of some of the funniest, craziest, unbelievable, off-the-wall, culture shock-fest stories that you're ever going to come across on this side of the globe.

I almost peed myself it made me laugh so damn hard.

For those fearing anything rectal, I can assure you that not all of the posts consist of butt-blocks. In fact, some are downright touching ("Moeko's Owl" being one of the rays of sunshine). Then there's the stuff regarding his ex-girlfriend. Believe me, he hits the nail on the head regarding how one feels after a regrettable relationship.

While stylistically the site is not much to look at, the content is what makes it increasingly popular. Indeed, it has garnered such a following that recently it launched its own message board and is single-handedly bringing the kancho technique to the states.

*looks around to make sure no one is sneaking up on her rear*

Important: For those of you out there harboring the desire to put off the American work force for a few years to go gallivanting through Japan as the next great gaijin sensei...I highly recommend that you check out this site first. It just might save your ass.

Don't say I didn't warn you...
I didn't think too much of it at the time, only later did I learn that...

1. IGN is pretty darned big.
2. The girl who wrote this is *really* hot.

Cause we're movin' on up! To the east side...

I remember when IGN wrote a review for an expansion pack of an fps game and said it was 3rd person. :D I totally lost faith. I suppose some of them do have writing ability however.

And yeah that girl is pretty hot. She licked a PSP. :D

okay well, I tried looking for the article, I couldn't find it on the site or anything, but I found this instead:

Buuut... I want to see what she said about you too. So I'll continue to look for it.

EDIT. NM you already got it. :)

That was some of the worst writing I've read in a while. Yikes. It read like a local newspaper's Janitor trying to mimic Newsweek. Errr, but good press is good press...right?

Hot indeed. Fufilling the desire of almost the entire male prison population by licking a PSP, she's got my vote for babe of the year. Now why don't all women like anime, manga, video games and be freaking hot like her?

Pierrot, there is no such thing as bad publicity. And this is IGN publicity.

Az, movin on up to a delux apartment in the sky. Or the 12th floor. Either or. I tip my hat to you good sir.

Hilarious.

... So naive. If only she really looked at herself in the mirror, she would know people would go for her ass regardless of what horrid kancho technique some poor sap of an American might attempt on someone else.

I assume that an editorial is going to go up based on this?

Pierrot le Fou

galavanting, gallivanting, I concede.

Why is it that so many people don't get it?!?

Az isn't encouraging Kancho in any way, he abhors the practice and wouldn't wish it on anyone.

I think perhaps there should be a requirement to view Outpostnine's articles that you have to provide proof of a reading comrehension level of a high school level minimum.

Aha. That's pretty awesome. The site is slowly becoming more and more popular, and that's definitely a good thing. ^^

Surprising that the forums don't have fifteen billion members though. o.O

popularity growing exponentially.

*AND FOR THE RECORD*
not sure if you remember Az, but before the forum was up, long ago in the early stages of this site, i emailed you saying that they should make a reality show out of you.

i demand a cut when my idea is put into use.

Watch for the forum membership to increase exponentially - IGN is pretty goddamn big. Incidentally...

*smacks Az upside the head* When really hot women who can provide good publicity write nice things about you, you don't ask us for a copy, you e-mail her and ask her for a copy. Remember, women like to think that what they really want in a man is someone who can make them laugh.

Her statement still rings true, though. Regardless of Az's intent, people are introducing the Kancho to the good ole US of A. Thankfully I've not encountered one yet (I'd have a hard time laughing off/shrugging off an attempted violation by a little japanese kid, but a full grown american male would get no mercy,) but apparently they exist.

Wasn't this article listed on the old message board? I remember the pictures and Az's refrence to an article being written.

So is this a new article, or the resurection of the old? Because if it's a new posting of the old article, we should have that many more members since it's already reached the ign audience.

Somebody let me know, here.

your thinking about the newsweek article

No, it wasn't the newsweek article because I remember the the big hoo-rah over her pictures, especially the one of her licking the PSP. I actually went to the ign site and read the article the first time. I just can't remember the content well enough to know if this is the same article.

It's the same writer, that I'm sure of. I just don't remember if it was the same article.
