Nothing new. Christianity has been co-opting other religions since the Romans got ahold of it. Where do you think Christmas trees came from?(and that's just the tip of the iceberg)

OTOH, I find the whole idea of "bringing religion" to people to be a bit apalling. I think it's the Bishops that need to be "saved" in this case. You'll notice that biggottry/intolerance isn't one of the seven deadly sins. Perhaps they need to add a few more.
