Oh, God. This means college football is starting soon, too. The campus getting trashed every other weekend, students kicked out of dorm parking lots so people with season tickets can park there, dangerous drunk drivers, the police suspending enforcement of laws against open alcohol containers and public nuisance so drunkards wander the streets... Ugh.

Before I started university, I was neutral to football. Now I actively dislike it.

I live in Ohio, where it's kind of illegal to not like college football (alright, not entirely, but I'd say that everyone I know either cheers for the Buckeyes or the Wolverines).

I also love professional football, and hopefully this is the year my Cowboys will win it all (for the 6th time). :watson:

Yes, the South is all about college football. I'm right in the middle of "Big Orange Country." When I lived in the dorms, you could look out the window and see all orange up and down the roads. You can't go anywhere near UT's campus (or a store that sells UT merchandise) on gameday w/o sitting in traffic forever. If you go to a normal store during the game, it'll be 75% empty, and 90% of those people in the store will be women... and of course the game will be playing over every store radio and on every bar's TV. I don't really mind it now. Guess I'm used to it.

The funniest thing tho, and I kid you not, is on the road that leads to the stadium, there are signs that say "NO PARKING -- Even on Game Days." lol, I should take a picture of that.

Ditto to everything, though I eventually started just moving my car to the top of the parking deck (no way in hell I'm moving from my $360 space right next to my dorm to some field off campus when the busses don't run on game days) so nobody would bother checking my tag.

Woot toot. College football is not that big up here. The CFL is, because my 'home team' keeps winning the Grey Cup. It only runs for like two weeks, though, on account of the fact that there's like 5 teams in the league. Hockey is huge... but the Rexall is a very great distance from both campus and my house.

Oh, and I don't know anything about NFL football other than the fact that I'm reasonably good at the video game versions of it. So here's me not contributing to this thread!

I'm rooting for Tennese titans for one reason only texas Vince Young. In college football I'm rooting for UF or Miami, I love the SEC and ACC confrences.

D: I think I actually will start paying attention to sports this year. Normally I root for teams >_>; but I CBA to actually watch the game. I'd MUCH RATHER play the game, but last year I didn't make grades so I couldn't continue my high school football career (now I plain just don't have time. I have a shit load of classes that will have a shit load of homework.)

I've always taken a liking to Ohio teams, because that's always who my grandpa would go for, because.. well.. he's a farmer from Green Springs, Ohio.

Vanderjagt is good when the game isn't on the line, one of the best at his position, but you're right, he's worthless if you need him to win the game. And his mouth is ridiculous for any position, not to mention a kicker. I live in North-West Ohio most of the year, so we get a lot of Colts games, and even more since they've been good.

In terms of personality we're worse off this year than last (we lost one mouth [Keyshawn], and gained two [TO and Vandie]), but definitely better talent-wise. Hopefully we can win it this year, before the inevitable TO sitting out and being a waste phase, and get rid of those two next year.

Oh, we were 9-7, and missed the playoffs by a game.
