Supercars are not feasible for any real use at all. The only reason to get one is to show off your money and to look cool. 8 MPG is real nice.

If any of you had a supercar, you would probably wreck it, because you wouldn't know how to drive it and would just speed around like a 17 year old.

That said, I know all of you are going to choose supercars.

If I wanted some ridiculously extravagant car, I'd get Alpine's Sinister Six.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtV0f4azQYw&search=sinister%20six

As far as a car in realistic terms goes, I would like to get a Mitsubishi 3000GT or a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO.

http://www.students.itu.edu.tr/~ayvate/cjpwallpapers/mitsubishi/Mitsu-Lancer-Evo-56-1024%20copy.jpg

A Nissan 240SX (Silvia in Japan) would be nice, too...

http://www.mvpmotorsports.com/merchant/240sx%5Cpic02.jpg

In a couple of years after taking some automotive classes, I'll probably be able to build my dream car.

P.S. Tibs, shh, you did it too :F

There are only a few cars in the world i would want to have, basically i want a car that is unquie and hard to equire in Australia.

for instance.

http://www.cars-on-line.com/16300/64impala16370-A.jpg
Chevy Impala.

The old Nissan Fair Lady 1990 isnt a common car in Aus either.
http://pics.hoobly.com/full/67cfac14b89a228ad2946cd8e6878b46.jpg

BUT i always thought the Nissan Cube was appealing for some odd reason.
http://press.nissan-global.com/COMMON/IMAGES/CURRENT_JP/CUBE/LOW/cube_06.jpg

I get my first car in 6 months time, i will have 5 Grand Aus to spend on it, plus another 5 Grand from family (they are meeting whatever i have and putting the same amount in.) I will probably have a Chevy Impala, if all goes to plan.

Car that is supposed to take the 'fastest car in the world' crown from the Bugatti Veyron:

I agree with Varia's more realistic choices, though an Impreza WRX is supposedly a kinder daily driver than the Evo.

I still don't understand why you guys want supercars... Are you ever going to go to their max speeds? No. You'd be too scared, and there would be nowhere to do it. I like going fast, but I get scared around 120MPH. After that it's pretty much just unsafe, no matter what car you're in.

And so what if it's currently the fastest car... It's ugly as sin. It looks like some sort of mix between a 350Z and some old ass 1950's car.

OMG! THE BATMOBILE!! :D Complete with working gadgets and what not! All the models! I want a batmobile collection!

Well, anyways.. I've always wanted a Viper since I was little. It's not a 'supercar' but of course it costs a 'superchunk' of money :( It's so long and sleek, I love it.. (I hate boxy cars.)

I'm trying to think which car I can realistically buy.

I love the Nissan 240SX S13, since my 1st car was one. I might buy one again, but it's so hard to find one that's in good condition these days. And the demand would be ridiculous, so I'd definitely have to overpay. Plus, I'd have to mod it by putting in a new engine and stuff to make it really attractive.
http://www.eracings.com/catalog/images/bodykit-nissan-240sx-8994-nismo-fb.jpg

But, if my schooling plans go right, I may be making a low 6 figure income by the time my middle age crisis hits. At this point, I'll look into buying the NEW Nissan Skyline GTR (if it still exists by the time I can afford one).

No, don't, please! It'll be your first car. Get something I wouldn't cry about when you crash it! And something with airbags and stuff ;)

My first car: 2CV6 "Duck", exact same colours
http://digilander.libero.it/Volantino/2CV/2CV6.jpg

Best car I've owned: Sierra Cosworth
http://www.rs-ford.co.uk/images/3drsierracosbrochure/3-dr-cosworth-page-1-mid.jpg

If I won the lottery, I still wouldn't buy a supercar, but rather this one for summer: Daihatsu Copen...
http://www.autotrack.nl/img/daihatsu/copen.jpg

...and a van for winter and transports, gigs, vacations, whatever may come.

Or something like this, because I'd like to drive from here to eastern China, visiting deserted places on the way:
http://members.aol.com/hurpritz/Agypt-Uni404--Pyram-1-a.jpg

Got a new Peugeot 307SW last year. It's a lease and it wasn't really my choice, but since my company bought all its cars there, I got a very good price on it.

Best cars I ever drove: BMW 850i, Porsche Carrera, VW LT28 ;)
Was driving really fast with the BMW till the owner told me how much it costed...

I don't like modern cars - they look like fucking jelly moulds and they are full of expensive crap whic is difficult to repair, like a/c, electric windows, ABS, airbags and all that stuff that . I like 70s and early 80s machines ,especially
British . My current machine is an 1983 Austin Ambassador which I've had for about 10 years -see pic. I would like a Citroen SM or a Fiat 130 Coupe or an old Nissan Cedric - anyone got one they need to sell??

Actually, I wouldn't mind having a rubber suit with nipples.

Brilliant thread.

This car needs no words. I'd like this as my first car.
http://www.cheshi.com.cn/news/images/10900/10910_3.jpg

For my second car, I'd definitely want...
http://www.edmunds.com/media/reviews/top10/05.least.expensive.convertibles/05.honda.s2000.500.jpg

Lightweight, FR, 6 speed, 250 horsepower out of a 2.0Liter (or 2.2, '04 and up, but the F22C isn't as good as the F20C, surprisingly..)

3rd car is probably more for a project car buuuuuut...
http://www.bigbell.ecnet.jp/shasin/mazda%20enfini%20RX-7%2097-FD3S.jpg

Maybe for a Luxury car, I might go with this.
http://car-wallpapers.boom.ru/_toyota/altezza-800x600_3.JPG

Though if I want a no-nonsense no-compromises full throttle BADASS sports car, that is still driveable and good for the soul, while still having class, luxury, and an Exotic feel...

http://world.honda.com/factbook/auto/motorshow/200110/img/10_p05.jpg

....And there goes another good pair of pants. *sigh*

Secretly, I'm a fan of this car.

And finally, if I ever bought a K-car, it'd be this one.

If I couldn't get any of the other versions? Hey, one Batmobile is better than no Batmobile.

I'm not really a car person. A car is a car to me. I can't think of one as being my dream. Although, my brother is that type of person, and he owns the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo MR or something like that. My friend is also in love with his Mitsubishi Eclipse GST. Just give me something that's efficient and looks decent and I'm happy.

A friend of mine has one of those Porsches (http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bild:Porsche_Standard_22PS_1958.JPG), and I think he's available ;)

Yup, they do have sexy cars. Unfortunately, they had some shitty ones, too, I think. Like the 924 (http://www.924.id.lv/bildes/924S.JPG) and 944 (http://rhinoracing.org/wp-content/uploads/2006/02/944_lem_01.jpg).
You can get one of those for less than 2000€, especially the 924 models aren't sought after.

Hm, Carrera GT or 911? I like the more classic design, so it's the 911, tho the Carrera GT is most impressive. 911 Turbo:
http://www.popartuk.com/g/l/lgst3153.jpg
Actually it's not that expensive

The friend mentioned above has also one of those:
http://www.automobileforum.com/forums/uploads/post-1-1108761467.jpg
His has the racing mirrors, which are nicer. IMHO one of the most beautiful Porsches ever built. The convertible is rather rare.

OMG HAWT. :D

Okay, fine. Rough order of sexiness from most to least: 911/Carrera, any model with the classic bubble headlights and bigass whale-tail; 911/Carrera, any other classy model; Boxter, convertible first; Cayenne. Other models go...wherever they go. My parents had a 912 back when I was too little to remember. :gloomy:

Really? I mean I have been 100mph many a time, but all right. Also, I would most definitely take any car like this on the track. Pay 100 bucks and people with these cars can race on tracks. Well, they take any car, but people in THESE cars take outside track, mind you, because of their speed.

Sort of. The Hachi-roku is a great car that'll teach me about cars in general. How to fix them (things will break) how to drive them (not the easiest car to drive, but once you get it good, the hard work pays off) and how to maintain them (20+ year old car.)

Plus it's got it's own cute little style. I like it.

The Miata is a GREAT car, that's why it beats turbo cars on autocross. :watson:

The NSX is an awesome car. I think any car that can keep up with cars with more horsepower than it deserves a medal.

Plus it just looks very sex. :eyepop:
