I have had to suffer for 5 years by being forced to listen to the damn radio when riding the bus to and from school. The bus drivers would always put on one station: 106.1 WBLI. In the morning, they'd have this fucking stupid morning show, "Steve and Maria in the morning". They'd talk about the stupidest things going on in pop culture and talk about TV shows only the people with IQs under 50 watch (Friends, Sex and the City, American Idol, etc.). Steve was more tolerable, but Maria....She was a bitch! She has this fucking whiny voice and whines about stuff I really don't care about, like how, I don't know, something is pronounced (Seriously, she had an argument with Steve on how "Pajamas" is pronounced). Besides the crappy morning show, all they played was shitty rap music, or whatever the hell is popular on MTV at the time. You know what else? Sometimes they'd play a song in the morning, and when I go home, I hear that SAME EXACT FUCKING HORRIBLE SONG playing, which obviosuly means they have the smallest, shittiest collection of music, ever. If a song is at least a year and a half old, they either don't have it, or, they don't want to play it. Just the songs they think EVERYONE listens to right now.

In 9th grade, I looked on the bus and saw various people with headphones on, listening to SOMETHING ELSE!

"Oh, if only I can listen to something else to make my bus ride to and from school more enjoyable," I thought.

On my 15th birthday, my mother gave me a CD player. I then burned a few songs of my own (Do As Infinity Songs), and listened to them the next day.

This solved the problem (though in between songs, I'd hear crap coming from the radio, and during songs, if the radio volume was turned up high enough, to the level of being able to go deaf).

Later, my CD player broke, and I got an iPod (which I still use).

Once I get my car, this problem will be completely solved, and I will write a hate letter to Steve and Maria, saying how they've made my life miserable in the mornings ever since 1999.

Ending on a funny note: Steve and Maria sound nothing like they look.
Steve looks like an old white guy, and Maria looks like a short, fat black woman.

Hahaha, sounds like your bus driver sucked.
When I played football, we had different ones each time, usually no music. One time! We had this awesome, funny ass bus driver, he was like an old Indian (Hindu kind) guy, and like he'd blast the rap station, and I hate the music, but he was like, kinda dancing or something while driving, and it was funny as hell
:D
At least you have a car now!

Uhh, my bus driver was always different, except for Grades 9 and 10. Bus driver will probably be the same one when I enter Grade 11 next week, too.

I still don't have a car, I never mentioned that I got a car. :P

But, once my friend gets his license and car, I'll try to hitch a ride from him, until I get my own license and car.

It's not just that radio station, they're all like that, all over the world. It's because all the radio stations on the planet are owned my the same three companies and they decide the playlists and playlists are made out of money.

Here in Toronto there is a radio station called the Edge, supposubaly they play rock, but I've yet to hear it. Anyway, they're all edgey... and on the cutting edge... like the sharp edge of a knife... DON'T GET CUT, SUCKA... or maybe it's like the edge of a cliff and you're staring off into the unknown and you jump off the edge. It's that rush we give you here at the Edge... the rush of jumping off the edge of a cliff and stabing yourself with the sharp edge of the knife on the way down. So strap yourself in and hold on tight because here we have coming at you is more edgey tracks by...?
Coldplay.

Bus drivers play music??

WOW. NEVER EXPERIENCED IT. It was always silence or kids talking or yelling, etc.
I got a car, but my radio screwed up so I took it out. Meant to get a new one, but it always slipped my mind.

It's not just that radio station, they're all like that, all over the world.

Oh, I'm aware. I know there can't just be one horrible radio station on the entire planet. But, still, WBLI is the one that affected me, and had made me lose respect for radio stations in general.

*Shrug* I don't know if my bus driver (same one, grade 1 through 8) ever played music, nor would I know what it was. I slept on the bus. Every day. For the entire ride. It was bliss...

It was great though, really. I mean, at 7am, what do I want to do? SLEEP! So I'd get an extra hour of sleep. On the way home, at 3pm, from a long day of extremely boring classwork and hot stuffy rooms, I would sleep.

Funny part is, most people that rode the bus with me, barely knew that I did in fact ride that bus. They'd be like "Do I know you from somewhere?" I say "Yeah I think I ride the bus with you" Them "Oh yeah! You're that guy that just sleeps the whole time!" There it is. I'm the Sleeping on Bus Guy.

When I got to be older and much, much bigger (thanks to years of Greco-Roman wrestling, grr!), the kids mostly left me alone and let me sleep, lest the incur the wrath of Sleeping on Bus Guy. They'd get up the nerve to poke me or throw stuff at me, only to have themselves MERCILESSLY poked in the abdomen/arm/leg/head until they begged forgiveness. Or things thrown back at them with the speed and fury of a thousand maniacs.

Lesson? Don't mess with the sleepy guy, he's tired!

Not all radio stations are like that Vid

Again, I am aware of this. My mother once found a station that played nice, soft, jazzy tunes, which I found nice.

Still, I'm not really into the radio. I like playing music from my own selection.
