Its really fucking hot.
Feel free to talk about this even though its a pretty gay topic. I just wanted to say how bloody hot it was here.

Its not any hotter than the summers back in good ol indiana, but the problem here is that its so humid... its like swimming through the air.
I never sweat back at home, but here, if Im out for 5 minutes Ive got beads of sweat on my head and neck. Its terrible.
It also sucks that families turn off the airconditioner when they go to bed. Its really expensive but Im almost willing to pay their air conditioning bill just so I dont have to wake up every 20 minutes to fan myself off and towel off the sweat.

The Floridian cannot feel sorry for you.

Take your current (high) temperature and humitidy, add 10 degrees (F, about 5 C) and you end up with an average Florida day.

Today is supposed to be a little cooler actually, only a high of 89 F.

What I'd give to have beads of sweat - buckets is more like it. From now thru Sept, I'll go thru 2 shirts/day, 3 when exercising.

To repeat the trite: It's not the heat, it's the humidity. Colorado hits 105deg in Aug, but 40% humidity means everyone moves inside. I'm looking forward to going home for a few weeks this Aug, where I won't sweat at all!!!!

And Trump, the wind actually blows in Florida! Only the politicians do here...

Sounds JUST like home. Southern Nevada will get up there in the summer, Northern Nevada usually just hangs around 100 through.

The dampness is killing me too. I'm told I'm in a dry part of Japan, but I keep having to remind people that my home is a desert and Matsumoto is NOT dry compared to that.

I don't think Tokyo has gone much over 30 C this year. Mostly it's been in the twenties- MUCH cooler than Washington DC and about the same humidity.

Kyoto is Hell.

Current Humidity: 79%
Current Temperature: 84°F (29°C)
High Today: 90°F (32°C)

Yeah, pretty-much like Orlando (32°C high, 83.9% humidity, but it's night and raining so it may not have been as humid earlier).

But compared to Boston...

Well, okay, in Boston right now it's 90% humidity, and the high was 32°C. Damn. Heat wave across the world.

I almost died last year in Kyoto when I was teaching in an un-air-conditioned classroom in the middle of the day with 85% humidity, on the fourth floor, and the thermometer read 42°C.

I get out of Kyoto, and the humidity drops like a rock.

Kyoto Humidity: 79%
Osaka Humidity: 65%

Yeah. (For reference, Tokyo has a 33°C high today, but only 65% humidity -- balmy I say)

God I hate central tokyo. My bf and I went to Shinjuku today to do some love hotel`n and so he could visit some of the places in his old college (Waseda). Instead of taking the metro from shinjuku station to takadanobaba then to waseda, we walked allllll the way from shinjuku station to waseda in the fucking heat wave of the century. I think I bought something at every 7 11 in Shinjuku. Did I mention I hate central tokyo? Ontop of all the heat and humidity that was simultaneously burning and boiling me alive, I had to deal with the thick layer of smog and regret that filled the Shinjuku air today. Also my boyfriend wanted to eat ramen today at a little place right infront of the entrance to the metro, ya know, for old times sake... but anyone whos eaten ramen at one of those places knows that its served piping hot and if you dont guzzle it down, they assume you dont like it... So yeah, that didnt cool me down much.

But anyway, I got drunk this evening at a bar here, took purikura completely wasted (I havent done either in forever) and walked home at 11, and it was STILL INCREDIBLY HOT. So I was wasted, and sweating like a pig.

Good day.

Depends on what part of California. I'm close to the beach so it only gets to a high of about 80F with a cool ocean breeze. But what's tough is my Starbucks isn't as cold as I would like it to be... :meh:

All I have to say is that looking at the weather forcast is an exercise in futility though. For the next 5 days... "Daytime: Chance/Isolated/Scattered (or some other term similar) of T-storms, high ~91 low ~75" Whoa, a week from Tuesday (yes, 10 days from now) it actually says mostly sunny!
