Was the Japanese Jet Grind called Jet Set? Cuz I know Jet Set Radio Future was the American name of the sequel, I barely played that one though :( no X-Box.

Jet Set Radio
Maybe in England. In America there were two versions. Jet Grind Radio and Jet Set Radio Future.
There was no Panzer Dragoon released on the DC =\
Close, but 100% wrong. There was at least one Panzer Dragoon game. Orta is the one I played. My friend owned it, and I played it.

It was changed to Jet Grind Radio over here since there was a radio station at the time using the name "Jet Set Radio".
Whatever, though I like Shenmue more I'd say it's far and away the best overall Dreamcast game. It's fun, the graphics STILL look amazing (the only instance of cel shading done right), and the music (save the tracks added to the American version) is great. Plus it's got Cube (who rules all) and it introduced me to one of my favorite bands: Guitar Vader.
Too bad the sequel, from what I played, does nothing but rape everything good about the original.

Shenmue, hands down. Its the reason why I bought a Dreamcast, and the reason I still keep it around. I even bought the soundtracks for it...
Phantasy Star Online. If you can look beyond the hackers, it was a pretty fun game...

I'm pretty sure there wasn't. I may be asking too much here, but can you prove me wrong? No problem if you can't, we all make mistakes and I may have made one right now, but I'm very very sure there was no Panzer Dragoon on Dreamcast. I even google'd and Wikipedia'd it.

Somethings not adding up here. I remember playing it, and so does my friend. Some sites say it was for DC(I've even found codes for the DC version), and some say Xbox(IGN doesn't have it listed as DC, which is what's puzzling me). =/
It's possible that I played Panzer Dragoon for Saturn(which my friend also had), then played Orta lated on Xbox, then got confused somewhere down the line. Although the codes are still odd.
I guess I'll go with IGN though. I must have confused Orta on Xbox with being on Saturn and then confused Saturn with DC.

In America, there is *one* version of Jet Set Radio on DC, which was called Jet Grind Radio, and a *sequel* released on Xbox, called Jet Set Radio Future. The change to the name wasn't due to a radio station, but rather (at least, from what I hear), due to a line of actual products called "Jet Set (something)."
As for your statement on Panzer... Oh dear :D Your last statement is correct, however. There are only two consoles (if you discount PC and handheld) that have ever had Panzer on them, and those were Saturn and Xbox.

According to IGN, PS2 got one version as well. Link. (http://my.ign.com/my/sb?pageID=2003&nuaction=gameSearch&gameTitleSearch=panzer+dragoon)
That's news to me.

God, I think it was called Sega Marine Fishing or something like that, but it was SO ADDICTIVE. It was a fishing game, but it had so many extras and the gameplay was so much better than other fishing games. There was so much tension watching that shark slowly come near the lure and finally grab it, and catching the huge Marlin was a challenge, but SO FREAKING FUN!

Shenmu
Marvel vs. Capcom 2

Soul Calibur
... That's all I had. But I loved each game. Especially Soul Calibur and Shenmu. I hope Soul Calibur 3 can bring me joy like the first did. The second had boring music and just... eh.

I tried, but it required too much patience. It was sort of fun at first, but it got really hard and I had no idea what to do. Plus, the voice recognition stuff was a little buggy.

Oh, the only voice games I've played were Hey! You Pikachu (yes, -.- I'm part of the Pokemon generation, and sadly, I still haven't caught them all, it haunts me so.), and Mario Party whatever the newest number is.

It's a damn shame few know about how very badassed Kurow is, or Momo, or Kyoko's "Break You" combo... Aw, man... I wish to actually see an arcade verson of Project Justice, just so I can be the man to rack up wins at a game nobody plays...

I grew out of Pokemon JUST as that game came out, luckily. Unfortunately, I played that Pokemon game with the camera and the arena-like one. Pokemon Snap, that's it, isn't it?! But yeah, I am so glad I stopped that when I did. I feel sorry for my parents having to endure it.

I stopped a little bit after Silver came out, the games were still fun, like up until Ruby. Then it just got ridicoulous. Friggin' Pokemon, corrupting our society for 7 years.

I played Seaman all the way through (by accelerating the clock, not actually waiting for each day).
At one point, he called me over and whispered," Psst... You alone today? The glass is foggy so it's hard for me to see..."
I was, so I responded, "Yes."
Seaman then looked relieved, "Good, good. There's something I've been wanting to ask you. You said you had a girlfriend... Tell me, have you cheated on her?"
"No."
"Come on, it's me. You can tell me anything. So, have you?"
"No."
"Just be honest with me."
This continued until I caved in and said "Yes" just to shut him up.
He said, "Aaaah. I knew it! Oh man, I can't wait to tell her tomorrow..." And then swam away.
The bastard. Probably the first time I wanted to slap a video game character.
A fish, no less.

Unfortunatly I didn't play many titles then. I also learned that the main reason of DC being pulled was because Sega Japan didn't support it; funny because it had a pretty impressive U.S. release. The games were rather promising, too.

Not entirely true. The DC was given up for a multitude of reasons, most of which are only known to the top brass at Sega.
However, the general buzz around the industry was the fact that Sega hadn't turned a profit in nearly 10 years. The year after Sega dropped the hardware, they were in the black (granted, that was helped drastically by Ogawa-san after he donated a metric f*ck-ton of stocks to Sega).

I see. Well in the end, I at least know why one of my restraunt managers works in the food industry now. I really liked the DC, though; it gave a lot of bang for the buck. It's kind of hard to think that it went so suddenly, especially with an epic release like Shenmue.
This kind of reminds me of that Panasonic M2 gaming system that had the capacity to kick Sony's ass, only the lack of marketing and courage to back it up was non-existant.

I so wish Sega was still a major company, I fucking hate X-box, and just now learned to love the PS2.
Dude! Seaman sounds fun. Hahahaha, imagine if it like did tell your girlfriend, like she was over, and you said to it, she was over, and he was like "HEY! He cheated on you!"

Well, it's a bit of a vicious cycle. If the publishers don't think the console will sell, nobody will support it. Since nobody supports it, it will fail. =\
But, to be fair to the publishers, there needs to be significant reason to support it (not just power).
- Financial backing behind the project, so the publishers know they simply won't back out
- Confidence that the 1st party actually knows what they're doing
- A guarantee of some quality 1st party titles to lure in gamers
Edit: h2orowe... How/Why does one actually hate a piece of hardware?

09-03-2005, 09:15 AM
Because! Xbox sucks, it's boring. It does nothing for me, except Halo 1/2, Fable, and if I ever play it: Jade Empire.
I just don't like newer companies.

Xbox sucks... but you like 3-4 of its games out of the ones you've tried?
Then what sucks about it?
h2orowe
09-03-2005, 09:19 AM
No! I've tried a shit load of Xbox games, I like a few, but they'd do good on every other console. Halo just reeks Xbox, same with Fable, but that's changing (comp version soon w00t, sorry sorry no need for a l337 3|2|_|p710/\/), and Jade Empire needs the graphics it seems.
Some "honorable mentions" are: Fusion Frenzy. I think that's it.

I *did* say "out of the ones you've tried"...
Okay, so you don't like the games on Xbox (even though the majority of them are also on PS2, but moving on). But why hate it? Did you train it to be your successor, only to have it betray you in the end, forcing you to duel it to the death?
h2orowe
09-03-2005, 09:25 AM
No. It killed my brother, and raped my sister. I've yet to avenge them, I'm training with Famicom sensei, and we've come close, but not completed my training.
Err, I don't know, I've liked it as Sega Vs. Nintendo... than it was
Sega Vs. Nintendo Vs. Sony, and now it's Xbox Vs. Nintendo Vs. Sony, and it's like Microsoft pwnd Sega, they pwnd them hard :( and I are sad for it. I want more quality Sega games. I want my JGR (JSR) on Dreamcast damn it!
hapacheese
09-03-2005, 09:33 AM
Actually, MS didn't get involved until after Sega got out... so technically, it was Sony that pwned Sega.
And if you're training with Famicom sensei, you will soon be ready for the duel you were destined for.

I almost bought a super Famicom for like 60, but I got Capcom vs SNK 2 instead >.<; should've I would've been playing Street Fighter in Japanese.
