Someone told me who Venom was played by and I remember not thinking he was stocky enough. I hope they don't mess him up either. Personally, I would enjoy seeing Carnage make a debut. Nice tease.

Actually the thing is that Spiderman is probably going to be battling the symbiote within himself. The Venom symbiote kinda makes him a little evil and I'm sure Sam Raimi is going to do something really cool with it.

Venom probably isn't going to be in this movie, but in the next one. #4

I think it will be a little too much as well.... it most likely is going to be rushed.... because theses guys only teamed up for the sinister 6.

Spidey defeating them one by one or all at once in the span of an hour and a half is going to feel a bit weird...ok...well maybe not for the sandman but for the goblin (who will probably be what's his names son) AND venom.

This better not be stupid.... the first two was good.... especially the surprise ending in 2 where what's her face decides not to marry what's his name.. lol

Grace is actually, I think,a great choice. Remember, Eddie Brock is supposed to be a smallish guy, who's just like Peter Parker. It's only after Spiderman humiliates him and causes him his job that he takes up weightlifting. And since this is probably only the introduction of the Venom storyline (I have my doubts about the Brock Venom doing anything more than a token appearance by the end of the movie), it makes sense. I think that they're gonna have Topher hit the weights extra hard, and become super buff, and then film the 4th Spiderman movie with Venom and Spiderman alone. Besides, Venom'll be completely CGI, and probably look just as fake and rubbery as Spiderman did in 1 and 2.

Maybe. Although I coudl've sworn I heard something about the Spiderman actor not wanting to do anymore of these movies because his spine is a piece of garbage.

Okay, that was the dude I am talking about. In the series, Eddie was a big jock and Venom was 2x the size of spiderman. Yeh, that's not going to work in my book. I don't buy the weightlifting unless he pulls a Carrot Top, then it just looks weird. Venom had it before Spiderman, so I don't see how they couldn't include Venom..:karate:

He might not have to pull a carrot top. Brock is supposed to be just as tiny as Parker at first, and they probably won't be so lazy as to introduce Brock right away as a beefy bodybuilder + venom. That would be lame. What they COULD do, is make a bodysuit to make up for the likely "several months later" thing they'll have to pull. Hellboy's muscles looked really really cool, and apparently so did Beast's, so it could be done... unless creative license is taken to make Venom even more of a evil parallel (in this case, physically) to Spiderman. And I really woudln't put it past Sam Raimi, considering he's already stated he hates the Venom character, and the series already doesn't follow the Comic/Cartoon storyline well.

That is something I loathe. I think only people with passion for the work they create, be allowed to create it. I mean if you are lackluster in what you are doing, you won't make sure it's suitable for the fans. Meh, well that's Hollywood. Yeh, I see where you are coming from, but with Grace? That's a lot of work. I mean a house fan on "1" setting could send him packing. I guess we shall see how this pans out. I look forward to it. Hopefully, Raimi keeps his apathy for venom aside for the sake of art.

I'm damn happy with the trailer. I remember when the rumors were they were going to completely change the venom origin with Spidey having never worn the symbiote just because Raimi was being a whiner that he didn't get to make a movie with only Sandman as the main villain... How boring would that have been by the way?
Anyway, when I saw Topher Grace I was happy that I didn't think "Dumbass!" at that moment like I normally do whenever I see him. I actually thought he looked alot older and, even a little haggard, in the face shot from the preview.
I'm pretty happy with the results so far!

There is NO WAY you could do Venom within one movie. NO. F'N. WAY. Eddie Brock is in this movie to set up Venom in the future, possibly/probably Spidey 4. The main villians for 3 look to be just Sandman and Harry Goblin.

Note that the trailer opens with Spidey ripping off the black suit in a bell tower. ...Hmm. Also note that we see Brock looking up and saying "Parker...", in what looks to be the same bell-tower. I'd bet that this scene takes place near the end of the film. Spidey finds the symbiote, goes through the movie being tortured/emo by it, decides to dump it and ends up in the bell tower. Brock, perhaps following Spiderman, ends up there as well, and the movie closes with the symbiote crawling up his skin. Bam! Spider-Man 4.

Also, Carnage? No way. Assuming Venom did make his entrance in Spidey 4, you'd have to wait until AT LEAST a Spider-Man 6 to do Carnage. Not to mention that he's waaaaaaaaaay to violent for what has been up until now a PG-13 movie franchise.

Yea, but now the whole fact that the symbiote gave spider-man the power to shoot webs without his web shooters doesnt make any sense! Also, in the first fight between Venom and Spidy he crushes Spidy's web shooters which cant make sense anymore either. Boo for changing story parts!
