OP9 Soldat Server?

Soldat is a fun 2D side-scrolling war game. It has a variety of maps, different match types (deathmatch, CTF etc..) bots if you wanna play offline, it's skinnable (you can even play paintball with it!), and best of all it's FREE.

There IS an option to register for 9 bucks and get some extra features but it's totally optional.

Now, I had the idea to make an OP9 Server/Clan for CS, but then realized: CS isn't free. Not many people could have access to it without buying it, and everyone would need a broadband connection to experience decent gameplay.

Soldat, however is free, and even 56k modems can play online without too much trouble. Hell, I was kicking ass with my 56k just before I logged on here.
It's just as much fun as CS, you don't need a particularly good PC, and it's so much more customizable. There lots of user made maps readily availible for download, along with mods and skins.

If you like my idea, maybe it can happen.

Yeah, I was kinda thinking BF2 also, but it's the same problem as CS. If it was free and didn't require an über PC, I'd be for it also.

I just mentioned Soldat since it was free, and fun. Plus it's only an 11MB download so it's not like dial-up users can't play either. Just a suggestion.

F.E.A.R. is now free! Yes, I know you need an Über-PC. But if someone wanted to host a server, it would be awesome.

soldat kinda rocks. Anyone played 'traget quake'? (I think that was the name) It's a q3 mod that turns it into a side scroller much like soldat... pretty neat..

That's why you only play in quality servers ;) Those were funny though. Too bad the actual hackers aren't that cool looking.
