The thing I'm not understanding is that Naruto has devolved into something resembling DBZ (episodes where almost no progression is made and involve fight scenes that remind me of watching WWF (i.e. "I'm mortally wounded and can't get up" yet 5 minutes later is up again as if they were never hurt.) I am suprised that it still has a cult following. I still watch it, but I don't find myself unable to wait for the next episode and checking the torrent sites for it until I am really bored.

The anime almost caught up with the manga, so they're throwing out crap filler so they don't screw up the story line (Like they did with Kenshin, and some of the other shows). Next manga arc jumps 3 years into the future if I remember right. I hope they get back to the real arc soon, it's getting pathetic.

i saw a commercial on cartoon network for naruto. guys, they absolutely killed it in translation. the commercial says "only one can be the coolest kid in school" or something like that.

I watched the first few filler eps just to see what they were about, and had to stop watching. It's just too pathetic. I can't wait to see the Kakashi eps though :D. I just hope they don't screw up Naruto like they did Kenshin, 'cause that would just make me sad :(

The manga is getting extremely long winded in the fight department right now. Every time something shocking happens the guy pulls a new puppet from his crotch or something. Still may look better in anime if they would just end the gay bug hunting bullshit.

Look at this, before the fillers, the anime and manga were ONE arc away from each-other. That's way too close. Why would someone need to buy the manga if they could just watch it on TV?

Sadly, that's the reason they need the manga to get far ahead of the anime.

I agree, these filler episodes are a total waste of time. But I have to say these bug hunting fillers are A HELL OF ALOT BETTER, then the first two filler mini sagas. I especially hated the Mizuki tiger shit... Tsunade now has two retarded brothers? BUT the fatal blow to it all is how lame the Rasengan has become. When Naruto first unleashed it on Kabuto in Episode 96 [I believe] it was the coolest shit ever, awsome effects and a devastating blow to the enemy. Now its just some wussy attack that just spins the enemy back and breaks stuff.[What happened to the part where it destroys your internal organs and stuff?!]

I found the current one (finding the bikochuu or somethin') quite entertaining, with Naruto's dimwit doings capture mein heart (eating the giant fruit, etc).

Nonetheless, I do hope they get to the Kakashi Gaiden much, much closer.

Probably they're doing fillers is because they're making the Kakashi Gaiden into their Fall Category of TV Shows.

Animes aren't butchered or murdered into dubbed series, unless they're butchered or murdered by TOEI Animations, or 4Kids.

I think once the fillers are over, Naruto will be back to it's usual pace. I'm looking forward to it. I hate the Naruto voice in the new dub. It's as if Naruto crapped his orange jumpsuit or something. Some parts of the filler were interesting, this bug thing isn't to me. I like to see the fight scenes in the anime because the way they turn out on Manga is like a bunch of black swirls and some "ching" or "clang!" sounds. It's a jumble of ink. In the anime you can discern what happens much easier. I'll watch the dubbed Naruto only to see what it's like to watch without reading anything, and to see how they choose to translate certain things.

I saw a commercial where naruto said something briefly and I was surprised by how close he sounded to the japanese voice except for a certain pitch that americans(or english speakers for that matter) don't do and wouldn't sound right in english anyway

but that doesn't indicate how they edited the show

well the first and second eps of naruto was aired today
if anyone whached that do tell us how was it (the dubing and whatnot)

the thing about the giden is that in the manga it took only 6 chapters

now, about 2-3 (sometimes even more) chapters of manga makes 1 anime episod

so this could be one big one-hour special ep or just two seperated eps

i wonder how it will turn out to be

It's two seperate episodes. The first commercial break just ended and so far, they edited the opening (expected) and the episode names seem to be intact. But when Naruto did the sexy no justu, the nosebleed was censored. Still watcing the episode so I'll wait 'till I watch the entire thing to give my jugdement.

I just finished watching the Naruto dub and all I can say is, I'm now very sad.
Mizuki's voice drove me nuts with his pronunciation of Naruto, and I'm extremely dissapointed with Naruto's voice. I'll probably keep watching it for a few more eps, just to see if they butcher Sasuke, Sakura, and Kakashi's voices. Otherwise, I think I'll stick with the Japanese version. :(

Other than how they pronounced the names, the episode was passable. We'll have to wait and see when the violence really racks up to see what they did to this. The music was intact save for the begining and ending themes, and used the openings from different seasons in their intros and outros. What did everyone else think of the episodes?

First opening is pretty bad, first ending is passable (music is very good, text... Is without sense) Second intro is great (one of my fave. animé intros of all time) second outro is... Annoying. Third intro is OK for an animé intro (which doesen't say much) third outro is okay, fourth outro is terrible. Fourth intro is... Pretty bad, but it's somehow demonically catchy, fifth intro is OK, sixth intro is bad.

Sixth outro is just terrible, seventh outro is... Trippy as hell, 8th outro is also really bad but somehow catchy, 9th outro is decent, 10th outro is terrible.

Well I just think most of the Naruto anime went down the drain when they started airing the fillers. Mainly because they've stopped the most of the violence, and taken out just about all of the blood... (the blood Mizuki coughed up after getting "oldified" doesnt count)

*complete nitpick* I believe they're 13 by this point. Naruto is 12 at the beginning of the series and becomes 13 about halfway through (I'd point out the exact time but I don't have my episodes here).

The timeskip is three years which would make him 16 or something (though it's actually slightly *less* than 3 years) By that time Temari would be 18 btw. (She's the oldest of the Sand Siblings)

Well according to what Sakura said in chapter 245 page 19 it has been 2 years since the last time she has seen Naruto... So either he hasn't been away for all those 3 years or that only 2 years have passed since we left off just before the Kakashi Gaiden started...

Naruto along with bleach are my two favorite animes although i like bleach better...Naruto has just gone away from the path of the manga...eveyone knows that yet there is countless forums where people keep saying it and talking about the fillers which no1 not even dattebayo knows when they will end, so everyone needs to chill and stop posting forums asking when they will end...and listening to people that have nothing to do with the show that reply saying when they will end....heres a heads up (they dont have a clue they are just kids and people that have absolutely no connections with the show at all!!!!...all we can do is watch that one crappy episode once a week and just think of what is too come and what still needs to happen...naruto gets stronger, all his friends are jounins and chunnins, he still needs to find sasuke and fight him, they still need to kill orochimaru, and sasuke still has to deal with his brother itachi....yea the fillers suck but with all those kick ass fight coming how can anyone stop watching naruto just because of a filler saga that lasted longer than all of DBGT lol ..... the fillers will end and naruto will kick ass again sooo dont worry!

When the Sasuke Retrieval Arc ended, the anime was at a point where it was quickly gaining on the manga, its source material. So at the conclusion of this arc, the anime immediately switched to anime only filler episodes. Many fans were disappointed (some even infuriated) by this, although most fans understood that had the anime overtaken the manga, the series would have completely differed from the original source (à la the Trigun and Fullmetal Alchemist anime series) or would have halted production of the anime series, such as Inuyasha. Meaning that it would probably never get to the next part of the manga adaption. After all, time was needed to further the manga, so that the show could be produced, whilst the manga stayed ahead a few arcs..

To tell you the truth i would rather have these Fillers ( :bored: as much as i hate them) than have the show stop production for 3 or 4 months or keep production going and past the manga and completely change the story.

Has any of you seen any of the Bleach fillers?! They are fucking awful. The filler material began with episode 64 or so and is still going strong (the latest episode is 78). The worst thing about it is that the anime filler plot totally screwed with the manga's plot - to such an extent that there's no way the show will be able to continue from where it left off and follow the plot of the manga well. The show is now about the "Bounto" or something - a cheesy vampire-like race of beings against whom Ichigo's 死神 powers are useless. Retarded...

Also, I heard news that Bleach has been licensed by VIZ Media and is going to appear on Cartoon Network within a year. Depressing...

It's really a shame, I loved Bleach and now it is trash like Naruto. Sigh...

This is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. So your saying that if it wasn't for the Sharingan than sasuke would be nothing. You could say the same thing about Naruto. If it wasn't for Kyuubi than Naruto wouldn't have his healing factor, his vast amount of Chakra, and is ability to come back to life from near death with its power.

The only person in this Series that is just plan raw skill is Rock Lee. He as no special powers and you can’t take any thing away from him that will make him weaker.

Take away Neiji's eyes than he can't see 360 degrees and use his jutsu correctly. Take away Sasukes eyes he still will be able to fight but won’t be able to foreshadow your moves. Take away Gaara's Demon he won’t be able to auto-protect him self with his sand. Take away Naruto's Demon his stamina is gone and His Chakra use is severally limited.

Yes he can see 360 degrees. What we find out in the sasuke retrieval arc is that he as Blind spot that lines up with the back of one of his spinal columns. Its is really really small.

It’s kind of like how a lot of people have a Blind spot between there eyes.

Too bad they majorly pussified him to the max. He's not the "SPRINGTIME OF YOUTH!" Rock Lee he was before. The EMOized him right when we got to the 100th Episode.

Yeah lee owns all he can't use ninjustsu or genjustsu but he's the best at taijustsu!

mad funny when he gets drunk also very powerful. is it me though or does lee always getting into fights into people who can make taijutsu useless? Gaara, that bone dude.

anyway back on topic the fillers are gay they took out everything that made the naruto series great in the first place. :bang: The cool battle interesting plot good animations. Naruto uses the resagen for everything he can't even cook without using the resegan.

I really hope they get back to the real story line soon. But on the bright side once they get back we should have at least a 2 years of good naruto episodes :clap:

Although, stuff like this makes me read fanfiction. Yeah, yeah, there's a shitload of the fangirl stuff and a lot of crappy writing, but if you look hard enough, there's some epic-style stuff that's awesome.

And this also why I read / watch Petshop of Horrors. No fillers! Ten manga volumes and four episodes. Yay.

And, y'know, some dubs don't turn out too bad. They fucked up with Naruto, but Hellsing is pretty good. :)
