Ok so what tattoos are you guys thinking about getting and where?

I'm thinking of getting "Limited Edition Issued 1991 Drink Soon For Freshness" on the bottom of my foot.

Thats good hurt like a mother when you get it.

The bottom of your feet have alot of nerves.

That's certainly an interesting place to get tatted, what are you going to walk on while that's healing since walking is most likely going to hurt like all hell?

I've got the sagittarius sign tattooed on my left shoulder blade. My mother kind of flipped when she saw that, paired with the tongue piercing, so Im not allowed to get any more piercings or tattooes (8 piercings, but she only knows about 7. . .and the tongue ring is no more). I'd really like a star pattern thing across my lower back. . .I know that is pretty much THE most generic place for a girl to get tattooed, but I can't help it, I think it looks really really cute.

oooooh... a friend of mine drew this a hell of a lot of years ago:
http://www.wolfslair.org/~groznik/images/fluffdrgn.JPG

I want it.. or something like it. prolly ask her when I evolve guts enough ;-) (and know where to put it, which I do not currently do).

EDIT: converted image into link, instead.

I was thinking of getting tribal tatoos across my back.

akitaka

I can't say I'd get them since I'm still young. A mark you can't really get rid of, unless you go for surgery. But I do like the tatoos on UFC/MMA/K-1 fighter Genki Sudo, particularly the one of the Nazca flying bird on his back. He also has the Native American wheel of life on one arm, and four Chinese kanji on the other, spelling out "Genki Nyorai"...mighty good taste, I think.

one (http://bjj.org/susumu/k1-20040522/images/susumu07.jpg).
two (http://www.sherdog.com/images/pictures/1217.jpg).

I'm not sure on what I'd get if I did want them. Maybe some design of my own.

I'd probably get one that depicts a heart covered in a scroll, being held by two dragons, that reads, "The Female Society"....

In my pants.

Or, just on my shoulder, OR, just Jesus on a Cross on my right arm.

You get a cookie if you can guess where i got the design from :D

i've got some plans to link this up with another design i got in mind, but as with all things nice, the cost involved isn't pretty.

check it out here (http://www.flatstattooing.com/flats.people_places/steve/portfolio/steve.tattoo.43.jpg)

nice place to look for inspirations on your art. Dawn has some really really nice designs.

Really crappy guess DJEvan but I'll say Kuo Leifah (sp?) of The Bouncer for PS2?

So far I'm thinking of slightly altering this (http://users.bloomfield.edu/students/snowteja/Shadow_Logo.pdf) and getting it as a full back that wraps over my shoulders (need PShop or Acrobat to view it).

DJEvan
08-13-2005, 05:52 PM
Prae: Logo from CNC? surely not just one design for the whole back, no?

Spy: close, but no cookie. :D

Actually taken from Jin Kazama of Tekken 5. Just thought it was a nice design. and u just reminded me to take another look @ The Bouncer.

This (http://www.flatstattooing.com/flats.people_places/dawn/portfolio/dawn.tattoo.80.jpg)
pic is one of the various that really caught my attention @ flats tattooing. Now to find a girl who's nice AND have this tattoo /wishfulthinking

edit: managed to get some screens on Bouncer. His tribals are cool, but i don't really like the stripes on his forearms. Looks abit out of place if ya ask me. And getting tattooed on the face must hurt like god knows what. Maybe i'll try it one day ^^;

Spy
08-13-2005, 05:57 PM
^.^ I liked Kuo's tatts in that game. Also a sygil (sp?) that'd be fun to get tatted would be the one on the cover and the dancing chick from Vagrant Story, that or Alucard's Sigel (sp?) from Hellsing.

DJEvan
08-13-2005, 06:28 PM
hmm, that sigel looks interesting enough, not to mention the feeling of that superfine needle going around ;)

but it should be more appropriate if its place on arm, back of hand, or around the bellybutton? :p

also, some general advice to peeps who are considering one:

- start small, maybe something no bigger then half an arm. I won't really know if its taboo in your country but here where i live people usually look down on tattooed people. Guess its an cultural thing.

- get it somewhere that will be easily covered up. Unless you like to walk around naked. Then I stand corrected. :D

- sounds stupid, but MAKE SURE u know what you're getting into. A Tattoo is forever, and i quote my friend:" Why put something on for $100 when you're gonna spend $1000 just to laser it off? "

And no Dpad, the soles of your feet are not good places to start, even though they fulfil the above requirements. :p

As in Bush's explanation of why terrorism has to be stopped via terrorism or as an explanation for why the Nazi party was so popular back in the day?

i am planning on ten tattoos.... a broken circle with stencil-looking words saying "Made in Japan" on my right butt cheek, the kanji for water on my lower back, a faerie in the upper middle part of my back with her knees to her chest looking at my right shoulder blade, a moon on my right shoulder blade, cherries on my left pelvic bone, an aries sign on my right pelvic bone, a nautical star on my right wrist with little stars going around my wrist to make a bracelet, the kanji for dragon on my right heel, and a japanese dragon eating its tale wrapped aroung my left ankle, and a little cross on the inside of my left wrist....

Interesting...

I'm thinking the tatts would go in no particular order of the following for myself:

Neck: Name of God in Latin
Chest: A flaming sword in the center.
Back: Image mentioned earlier as it has personal meaning (essentially it's just something odd that came to me in a dream back when I was 12 that's come back to me at least 3-4 times a year since).
Arm-Right: Symbol of Set
Arm-Left: Symbol of Anubis
Hand-Right: Flames of Cleansing light on the back and fire on the palm.
Hand-Left: Dark Void of Creation on the back and ice on the palm.
Leg-Right: a Black Lucifer (essentially self-image) flying up to a White God (generic/unseen) with flaming sword drawn while getting pulled down to hell.
Leg-Left: Oath/Creed of Solomon

Those are one's I'm definitely thinking about aside from what I mentioned earlier however I'm curious as to how exactly it'd work out (financially since it'll definitely cost a pretty penny). This is probably work I'll be getting done between 22 and 25, but we'll see as car insurance is a pain.

I wanted tribal marks going along my arms and shoulders at one point. Never happened, but I might still consider it.

Other than that, I'd like to put some tatts on my body that are symbolic to my martial arts, like ones to recognize the philosophies I took from each I dabbled in.

How long does it take these things to heal up?

DJEvan
08-14-2005, 04:03 AM
Fujin: Usually takes about 3-4 days for the skin to start peeling off and you'll be pretty much ok after that. No sun or swimming though, you wouldn't want to spend more money on getting a touch-up now.

Spy: by palm i assume its where your fingerprints are?

good luck, i don't think i'll ever want to know how THAT will feel :p

and the Lucy/God Concept is nice. Find a nice Lucy pic though. as for the cost, i dunno tattooing seems expensive here, seeing that my simple tribal cost me about 70 bucks USD, i'm thinking it'll probably cost upwards of 1000 for everything you mentioned.

Bella: nice, that 'Made in Japan' tatt will roxor the soxors of anyone who manages to see it ^^

Actually I meant the span of skin between my thumb and pinky fingers that also happens to connect to the wrist (I think it'd be interesting to have a tattoo there and I do realize that'll probably hurt like hell for a while aside from itching to no end).

ah yes, the itch. I'm furiously trying not to scratch mine now as IT REALLY ITCHES!!!!

and when i was referring to the fingerprints, i really meant the palm side so yeah, misunderstanding there.. Imagine shoving your hand into someone's hand and all they can think is 'wtf was that' :D

and yeah, meh about the pain. When i was doing my first one, all i can think of was 'my friend's pinches hurt more then this'. Then came the shading part. god that was one unique sensation

I'm a sales person for a tattoo supply company, so right now I hate tattoo artists. Most of them are jerkoffs. Scum of the earth, seriously. There are some nice ones out there, usually the ones from down south who try to flirt with me. Most of them are just plain stupid. If any of you are tattoo artists, disregard what I just said, and look my number up in the purple book :)

Customer: I want some pre-sterilized 3 liner needles
Me: Sorry, We don't have any in stock.
Customer: What do you mean you don't have any in stock?
Me: ....

or...

Customer: My power supply ain't workin.
Me: Did you plug it in?

Customer: I'm gonna order from another company, take me off your list. I'm never ordering from here again
The next day...
Customer: I wanna make an order...

I will probably eventually get one though. I want something with my parents names or something. And when I have kids I want their names. I don't want anything stupid that I'll regret later on.

It's hard to take a dead on picture of a 3d object. They lines look messed up in this pic, in reality they're square and even, it just doesn't look that way.

The bit you can't see is done in black light reactive ink, there's a torch between the horns.

I like the idea of covring my back in a huge mural of various things I like. Have no idea what, but some thoughts are stars, moon, a couple Japanese characters. I do know that first I wanna test out my pain tolerance by getting a swirl of stars on my left shoulder blade. Was thinking of dark blue ink, maybe not tho. But I want my entire back covered. Ifyou've got suggestions of tmy theme of star/ moon/ night sky, TELL ME!!!!
My friend wants to get tattoo's going up her back. She wants paw prints going up her back, then under her neck, the picture of a dog hanging on her back, lawing digging in her skin.

I was actually thinking that would make an awesome tattoo (Jin's godly in Tekken 5) Nothing I'd get, personally, but still awesome.

Oh, and I was thinking if I was to get anything, it would be the kanji for shinigami (an alias that has become a second name for me. No, I'm not a Gundam fanboy)

DJEvan
08-16-2005, 01:08 PM
IIRC Shinigami means Death God in japanese so no, you're not a gundam fanboy. but in a mostly chinese community here putting on 死神 might not be a good idea.

kensei
08-16-2005, 01:10 PM
Shinigami is indeed "death god" in Japanese. Apparently one of the main characters in one of the series went by that alias. What does it mean in Chinese, may I ask?

DJEvan
08-16-2005, 01:38 PM
死 - Literally Death
神 - Deity, God

yeah, Chinese chars and Japanese kanji usually have little variations in meaning. this one is no exception.

kensei

I would also consider getting the kanji for my last name (Sugita) if I really just had to get one. But meh, my body will probably remain un-inked.

I am much more suited to temporary tattoos.

Though it'd be nice to have my wedding ring tattooed on. I'd do the same for my husband.
