I think a skunk just sprayed in my back yard. *plugs nose* :(

I don't think that's a reason to be sad. I think it's a reason to feel a bit sick though...

Ew... I hate when skunks spray that crap. One can smell that excretion from quite a distance.

Eh, rather annoyed actually, but sadness seemed a good enough emotion at the time. *still plugging nose*

We get that a lot here in Texas. You'll be driving or something then all of a sudden... it hits you.

And it takes a while to leave the area affected. Sadness is a perfect emotion.

Thank God for Febreeze.

I just wonder how does skunks smell like.

It smells like old, sweaty, unbathed for weeks ass. That's the best I can think of... 'Cause it's a very pungent stench. Hits the senses like a sack of bricks.

Yeah. There's just something about highways that just seem to attract the little bastards.

Consider yourselves lucky. It's bad enough inside of a car... But outside, it's horrible gross.

even with all the windows closed?

I can't imagine how he could smell it, IN his house. His backyard is far, how could the smell even travel through windows and thick porch doors?

There are ways for the scent to get in through the car even with the windows closed. And there are probably some tiny openings in the house that allow the scent to drift in. I'm telling you it's POWERFUL.

I want a pet skunk with the scent sacks removed.

We have tons of skunks where I live. I can smell one right now, actually. It was probably run over a few miles away, because that happens here a lot.

Though, if it's strong enough, it can help clear your sinuses. Not the best way to do it, but it works.

And for those who don't know, liquid manure smells just as bad (probably worse).

He's a she, thank you very much! And you have No Idea how bad a skunk is. That pungent smell of death and the destruction of life travels for miles around, burning nose hairs and making small children cry. Absolutely horrible... *shudder*

Even with the stink glands removed (and skunks are pets in places) a skunk is a lot like a ferret, still stinky as all hell. Other then that, they're apperently adorable and loveable as pets.

I'd wonder what it'd be like for having a ferret as a pet. It'd be like crawling up our legs and mistaking my friend's crotches for food.

Skunks can be very affectionate... but it's true. They're like ferrets in the sense they have this natural BO that can get a little annoying.
