I got these rewritable CD-RWs, but I don't know how to erase or add songs to already full CDs. I thought you were able to do this. Some help would be appriceated ty.

I'm not sure if it's possible to just delete single files from a CD-RW. Your best/easiest bet (at least as far as I know, I haven't ever used the Windows CD burning tool before) is to copy/rip all the songs over to your computer (into a folder), delete the songs you want removed (out of the folder), throw in the songs you want (into the folder), and reburn the CD (using the tracks in the folder). Time-consuming, yes. But I'm not sure how else you'd do it.

When I tried to delete track 11 I get the error message Cannot delete Track11: Files on this CD are read-only. You can still copy new files on this writable CD, which will replace files already on the disk.

Well I copied a song that I wanted on the CD onto the list, and the file is above all the other songs with the words "Files Ready to be Written to the CD" I don't know what to do from here. I tried dragging it down to the list, and it isn't letting me. Here's what I see.

wait i just found an option to erase the cd-rw. thanks

You can, as you said, erase it, but if you think you may want to add things to it later, make sure to burn it as a multi-session disc.

In case you don't have a decent burning package and are relying on the crappy xp 'write these files to disk' feature check out this program. It's basically a free nero clone, and it's worked pretty well for me so far.

Nero, for me, is the best CD utility tool there is. Grab it here, plus keygen: http://isohunt.com/download.php?mode=bt&id=11093807

Install it, obviously. ;)

When you want to use your CD-RWs, stick one in the drive and first format it through extras > erase CD. (Extras is in the menu across the top.) Once it's done, it'll be completely empty. Now go to Favourites (in the menu at the top again) and choose "copy CD" if the songs you want are on a studio album, or "make audio CD" or "make data CD" if the songs you want are already on your hard drive.

There's some pretty basic options there, like naming the CD and choosing your burn speed, but they're fairly straightforward. I'd suggest setting the burn speed to about 24x to avoid errors at either end of the spectrum.

Good luck. ;)
