All right, me and my other friend were trading music >.> <.< more like I was showing him Sambomaster, and AKFG; we both like hardcore, so I brought up Japanese Hardcore, jokingly, thinking it wasn't real. Well, I searched on Myspace for Hardcore bands in Japan, and well enough, there was, and their not half bad.
I've been into hardcore somewhat since like '00, so it's not like I'm into it because it's hip now, but it's just weird hearing your WATASHI WA's and your KIMI TO's and your other japanese words, being screamed.
All I can say is

Anyway, what is 'hardcore' music? Just a lot of screaming?

Hardcore music, is hard to describe, I can say it's like Metal and Punk, but it's not accurate. Mainstream American hardcore sucks for the most part, it's better with bands lesser known like Bane. It's like screaming though.

Yeah, I dunno... I can't get into that kinda music. Some yelling is okay, but if that's all there is... *shrug* Guess I'm not angsty enough.

Yeah, questions of good music/bad music aside, hardcore is simply one of those genres I don't understand, so avoid. =\
hardcore music is NEGATIVE! It is extremly VIOLENT and goes agaisnt my religion, which of course is being HAPPY!
BOO on the yelling music.

I'm not into a whole lot of it, since it's too noisy. However, I like bleach (http://www.highwave.co.jp/bleach/).

This goes right along with a previous conversation I had with a friend. Think of a type of music and then try to think of the most extremely unlikely instance of that particular form of music and then see if it exists. For the most part I have been disturbed to find that it does. For instance Christian Death-metal. Although I am happy to say I have yet to find either techno remixes of Cat Stevens songs or speed metal versions of Barry Manilow yet.

Vomitorial Corpulence. A Christian goregrind band. They have songs like "Hammering Satan's Head" and "Christ is the Demon Crusher." Not to mention "Hammer Inflicted Brain Seizure and Hemorrhaging Cranial Gestation" or "Festering Insalubrious Bowel Hemorrhaging of Cancerous Pustulosus and Abdominal Abscess Discharge of the Intestinal Tract." Lyrics cover such subjects as Jesus crushing Satan's head with a hammer and God grinding sinners into a bloody pulp.
And yes, they suck.

Hardcore is a blend of metalcore music (check out bands like Caliban, As I Lay Dying, Unearth, Underoath) and really screamy lyrics.
Check out bands like Devildriver or Hatebreed for good examples of hardcore.

My favorite hardcore bands (I don't use hXc cuz I was taught to use hardcore, I was like 10 when I first got into it.) Hatebreed and Poison the Well, my first bands. Bane is like my favorite now.
I've been with it before it got popular, and I hate fashion core.

What bands would be considered fashion core?

I feel old. When I think of hardcore in terms of music, I think of hardcore punk like Minor Threat, Discharge, Dead Kennedys, etc.
If there's anyplace where hardcore still seems to mean music in that style, it's Japan. Tons of Japanese hardcore punk bands exist.

Lots of the kind of bands I'm talking about listed here.
Eighteen Visions, Avenged 7fold, and Atreyu are some examples.
I've never liked those bands.
You should check out the bands I listed in my first post on this thread, including the metalcore ones.
Burning Skies are great. They're a DEATHcore band, they're even harder than most metalcore/hardcore.

Am I the only one who's amused by this?
Try VomitChunks! They're totally DeathBurnSmashCore, man!
It's like they're all trying to outdo eachother in the 'sounds like someone eating a guitar' department.

Pretty much only in US Hardcore used for Hardcore Punk. Around here when talking about Hardcore, its most likely talking about the electronic music genre. To witch people usually refer in these situations as Hardcore Dance, to avoid misunderstandings ...and Japanese Hardcore Dance is absolutely fantastic :) ...and Kokujin, those can be über happy too :p
