Oh my God that's Bob Sapp. This guy acts like a simple minded monkey. When I go to Japan this is the impression people will have of Me. Damn I fell really, really depressed right now :gloomy:
No wonder Az hates him. It’s like he's Cooning to the Japanese audience.

I wonder how much of the "clear" he's used.

Hmm he talks a lot but he seems to get beaten easily
Is he paid to lose? To talk big to make people bet on him and then lose on purpose?

I have no interest in Bob Sapp, but any nod to Gally gets two thumbs up from me.

I will warn you that I hate Bob Sapp/Bobby Ologun, and any references to me as them, even in jest, will not fly well with me.

Is it because of his amazing showmanship? Or because he would sell his soul for $12 and a pack of Juicy Fruit? He reminds me of Drew Rosenhaus... except "cheaper".
Sorry Az - didn't know you were so "touchy" about "The Beast". I will refrain from putting you and "him" in the same sentence again...

PS - The first time Az has ever replied to one of my posts and it's to warn me! Yay! This bodes well for me... *sigh*

It's because every day he gets called "Bob", as if the person is breathtakingly hilarious and original. "Hey! You're Black! So is Bob Sapp!"

I made the stupid comment because he was big and foreign not because he was black.
But I definitely can see the point now and I apologize Az. Please accept my most humble act of contrition.

Oh-dear-God, what happened to that guy in his childhood!? :boggled:

It's not about "him"... it's about the paycheck he puts in his pocket every week.
I bet he's a decent person when he's not in front of the cameras. It's all about the money though... If not then... well... there's no hope left in the world.

I find it difficult to beleive that a man who decapitates a doll and eats its stuffing, on or off camera, is indeed in a healthy mental state.
Besides if it is just the pursuit of money that's also unhealthy!

I wonder if Az would have been as mad if I had used Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka instead?
As to people doing unhealthy things for money... that list has a whole lot more disturbing things on it than a man who decapitates a doll of a fake adversary on tv... *sigh*

Not a bad video. It nice to see someone actually show Bobby Sapp suck as a K-1 fighter.

He's a big guy, but he is actually quite a shitty fighter. Punch him in the chin, or kick him in the legs, the end. I still wouldn't fight him though, he's double me weight and over 6 inches taller.

Yeah, as shown in the video--Cro-Cop got a punch in on his nose/chin and Sapp immediately started crying.

All the fights I've seen him win were 'Rocky' fights that consisted of him getting the crap beaten out of him and somehow outlasting his opponent. I suppose he's an easy opponent until you lose concentration and he lands a huge punch on you...
And the part of that video that shows him turning 360degrees while getting pummeled gets my nomination for LOL of the day.

Actually, Cro-Cop broke Sapp's orbital bone with that shot

Oh really? I was completely unaware. Ouch! Crop-Cop sure does deal damage.

the funny part was the announcers were building Sapp up like a monster, and Cro-cop takes him down after about a minute into the match, it was really quick hehe

He has, but if I recall, he usually does it against low-brow fighters--could be wrong though. I do remember him getting absolutely destroyed by a top K-1 fighter, but the guy made a mistake in a late round and it cost him the fight.

You know, this approach is very similar to Mohammed Ali's in his later career. He stopped dodging and darting and turned himself into a brick wall. If you can take damage for long periods of time without necessarily doing all that much, then your opponent tires and all you're doing is taking punishment. As soon as they get tired, if you can get one good hard hit in, you win. It's a strategy, but it leads to long-term illness and brain damage.

I just want to say that Sapp is a little pussy.
I was at the big K1 Fight Event in Amsterdam yesterday and Sapps fight was one of the last and most waited for.
During another Fight he was ouside of the ring shouting, throwing something in the corner and heading out...
And today I read this....:
"Just before the fight, Bob Sapp got afraid to step into the ring and went back to the hotel. This was announced by K-1. Peter Aerts, who happened to be presentas a commentator for TV broadcast, said that he would fight Hoost instead and Stefan Leko took overhis job! "
edit:
"What I heard about the Sapp issue is that K-1 didn’t want to pay him what he asked, we as a Dutch audience can be upset about this situation but just realize what it means to a fighter or manager. How can you blame Sapp if it seems that K-1 didn’t solve this upfront? Of course we have to wait for the official statement of the K-1, but the rumours say that it’s a money thing and that Sapp isn’t pleased a all."
Bah, so he din't get enough money to get beaten up.

He absolutely destroys some people. He has no technique, but the weight and power behind his punches is insane. He uses them more like hammers than anything else, but when you bring something down with that much force, it has a tendency to hurt -- a lot. He also happens to have a glass jaw, not being an actual fighter of merit and all that. So if he gets punched, he usually either tries to defend himself 'til the end, or he flies into a rage, and just starts running around the ring after the guy trying to pummel him. Either way, it's fun to watch.
