I have thought about this, and discussed it before in IRC chat. I am personally surprised that as a moderator, he doesn't have banning privilages for spammers, et wot.

Over the history of these boards, only two, three legit people have been banned by the admins, and I can't say I totally disagree with their decisions. Furthermore, I have no doubt that the banning of these "legit" people wasn't a decision made by just one admin, but was instead a decision that all the admins were able to weigh in upon beforehand.

Yet, those sorts of people are a rarity here. The problem that has been recently developing here is the fact that advertisers and spammers have been plaguing our boards. Meneer is on at a time, it seems like to me at least, where there is no other admin available to handle these sort of situations where there are spammers and/or advertisers. However, without banning powers, he is unable to pernamently remove these sort of unwelcome people from the forums.

IP bans, sure, I can understand only Az having control over those. But the fact remains that if an admin of these boards cannot ban the average day to day spammer and/or advertiser, then how effective of a admin can said person be? It is an important function of an admin to be able to protect/take care of these boards to the best of his or her abilities, and not being able to stop an advertisor or spammer inhibits and limits an admins capabilities.

Thus, I also sign this petition to give Meneerdijk banning powers, and strongly urge others of the OP9 community to join with me also on this.

Citizen and Kass have been mods since time immemorial, Mneer has been for as long as these boards have been around. Az isn't a mod, he's an admin/site owner.

There are often stretches of time when no mod/administrator is online, thus leaving the thread completely vulnerable to spammers/violations to forum policy/trolling. I suppose such things happen to any forums on the Internet, but this forum suffers from that a lot more, imo.

It's not the number of mod/admins either- if we had one cyborg admin who is on 24/7 and from the future we wouldn't even need this argument.

Roxie, it's three mods for the entire board, not just one forum and trust me, with vacations, schedules, work and real life, that is a pretty good number. With all of us in different time zones, it also means that it doesn't take long for one of us to get to a reported post or whatnot.

Yes, I think my e-hubby should definitely have banning rights. He IS a mod after all, and although his mod-ness isn't quite as old as the modding of the original two mods, he has been around a long time and I think he is just as good as the other mods (who I also adore, even though little Citizen is usually disappeared).

The only time which I want to see Meneer have banning priviledges is that if everything high-school in here will stop, from the ZOMG SEX!~ (Sup Gaia. Nymphos) to the favoritisms, which you know, won't even disappear.
