The feature, based on the globally popular Transformers franchise, will be directed by Michael Bay (upcoming “The Island,” “Armageddon”) from a screenplay being written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (upcoming “The Island”). Steven Spielberg (“War of the Worlds”) is executive producing the film, with Lorenzo di Bonaventura (upcoming “Four Brothers”), Tom DeSanto (“X-Men” and “X2: X-Men United”) and Don Murphy (“The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen”) serving as co-executive producers.

Fifty dollars says its gonna be as artistic and deep as all get out, yet its gonna still suck.

But I'll be there to see it.

Some series' were just not meant to have movies. Obviously, "Transformers" is one of those series'.

that was beautiful. I knew that movie was wrong in more ways than I could count, but somehow AZ managed to count them. Good Job.

The original Transformers series needs to be released on DVD if it hasn't already. I'm itching to find out why it's so popular among the older crowd. Since I'm a fan of old-school animation, such as G.I. Joe and other programs, it shouldn't be difficult.

What cave have you been living in? The original movie has been out for ages on DVD (however, I think a special remastering is in the works), and the Series has been out for a good while now on DVD, hell...ALL of the Transformers series stateside have been released (G1 & Beast Wars are the only continuities that don't suck, however)...

I have my nice, shiny, complete G1 Season 1 set not more than a meter away from me at the moment.

I love you. GI Joe > Most cartoons today.

I have been wondering for awhile now.... when exactly was it that american cartoons (cartoons that did not have to be dubbed from the original) begin to suck?

I have been wondering for awhile now.... when exactly was it that american cartoons (cartoons that did not have to be dubbed from the original) begin to suck?

There are some good ones out now, adult swim is a great block, although it's been getting stale since they show the same repeats over and over for months at a time before getting ONE new episode of A show. If you mean cartoons geared more towards children though Justice League Unlimited is great, although that too is more aimed towards adults (I'm still suprised they were able to get away with "Batman left his DNA all over town... that's not what I meant." ), and also The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends on the cartoon network are both gold.

Still nothing beats the oldies, what I wouldn't give to watch Ren and Stimpy, or Rocko's Modern Life again.... oh well, a guy can dream

I don't know about you, but I want the Real Ghostbusters (and not the later ones where they became focused on Slimer). They were actually pretty cool. As for Rocko's Modern Life and Ren and Stimpy I suggest browsing the torrent pages. I recently have had quite a bit of luck finding old Saturday morning favorites ike the original Land of the Lost, Freakazoid, and Pirates of Dark Water. Still waiting for Real Ghostbusters though......

My friend just recently (purchased) the Real Ghostbusters on DVD. Someone had taped them and transfered them to DVD in GREAT quality.

Holy shit, someone has Sam the ugliest dog in the world as an avatar. My heart just exploded like last time.

And Rocko's Modern Life is still available on t.v., but I had to watch it through Digital Cable. On that note, that show was much ahead of its time. The only other show on Nickelodeon that could compare to it was Ren and Stimpy.

I wasn't sure if anyone would recognise it, but it would appear I am not the only one to browse the odd news sites. Also with a face like that, how could I resist?

Barf... ugh I could not believe that thing was actually alive. Poor thing, it's probably the sweetest thing in the world. I'd have some hesitation touching it, though. I feel sorry for it. I mean the thing has cataracts, blackheads, a mohawk, and looks like a mutated sewer rat.

Edit: And yeah, pretty brave making that your avatar. Don't ever get rid of Sam.

Yea old school cartoons are way better than these new craptoons. I mean GI Joe , thundercats, silverhawks, M.A.S.K. Bionic Six, Ghostbursters, the Tick, Captain N, Sky high, he-man, danger mouse and C.O.P.S. beats the smack out of any cartoons these days. Maybe its just me, maybe im too old but id rather watch JEM then sponge bob anyday.

The Pirates of Dark Water ran out of budget before finishing. I want to know how it ends! As for Ren and Stimpy, I know they (briefly) had some new episodes on the Man Channel, but I haven't seen any commercials for it lately so I'm guessing that got dumped. The old ones were better anyways.

I downloaded the newest season of Ren & Stimpy to see how it had evolved since my childhood....... My advice is do not watch the newest episodes if you value your memories. Sexual innuendoes and really digging to disgust are not what I remember of Ren & Stimpy.... After watching the first episode I deleted the entire season..... it was simply wrong.

As for Pirates of Darkwater I agree, I too want to know how it ends...... I can only hope that there was some form of published storyline somewhere for me to find.
