I don't mean to spam or anything, but I wanted to draw everyone's attention to the fact that telecommunications companies in America (And elsewhere, no doubt.) are determined to destroy the internet.

The internet is fine.
Its everywhere, and its a technological impossibility to destroy it. It would need every server in the world to shut down for good. And people with thier own won't shut down without a fight.

I always believed that, but now I have some creeping doubts. And even if it is only regulated in certain areas, it will still affect people. I would not want to, for example, put a lot of time and effort into creating a site (Be it a webcomic, a blog, a business, whatever.) only to have all that time, effort, and money go to waste because no one sees my content.

Internet is something people can not destroy without being truely united in the goal. If you look at it, you can't barely censor it. As long as there is one person with a server up, you can't stop or destroy it.
