Well, since the thread of the same title in the I Am A Japanese School Teacher forum turned out to be about something completely different, i decided to ask just that question.
If given a choice similar to Neo's in the matrix, would you take the red pill, or the blue pill.
Personally i would take the red pill, just because i have this really annoying desire to always know the truth about something.

i really do think ignorance is bliss in some situations. for the people who don't remember that part from the matrix(gasp yes there are people who didn't cater thier lives to it or didnt like it as much as others) mabye a recap.

Take the blue pill and go back to a blissfully ignorant, happy life where you have a home, regular decent food, a life and security.
Or take the red pill and enter a world where you eat white slop that looks like man juice, wear tattered rags and live on rickety submarines or in caves, with other similar dirty people? Not to mention have a severly reduced life span.

Sure you are being used to feed giant machines, but ignorance is bliss and its a completely symbitioc relationship. Both sides benefit.

Generally the people who say they'd take the red pill would do it because they don't like their current reality, or they believe that theres something out there thats worth losing all that security for.

yeah....I think most people need to trap it and try to make their life better instead of complain.
Now i said some, some people are actually royally screwed, but most just complain too much and do so little.

I dunno... the humans and the machines seemed to have kind of a synergistic relationship to me.
The humans provide the energy to the machines to live, and the machines give humans a world where there's still natural sunlight and food with taste.

Blue Pill for me, but then again, I play entirely too many MMORPGs, so I clearly love my alternate reality :)
I'd take both pills and see what happens. It probably involves some terrible stomach pains...
