Actually, no.

I see that sometimes, Az refers to the Matrix when talking about his children and how they are a lot like the things going on in the movies.

But, have they ever talked about the Matrix with you, Az? Because I'm sure the movies were shown and are available there....

I would take the red pill. I don't usually take traveler's words for it when it comes to a country of interest (especially not my AP Human Geography instructor's) simply because of its volatile nature, although I have no real reason to go.

Red pill.

Because I'm an idiot with an insatiable curiosity. If theres a chance to see what is hidden, I'll take it. http://www.simnet.is/agirs/yahoo/45.gif

So, uhh....You know that's just the title of the thread, and I wasn't really asking if you would either take the red or blue pills, right?

Shame on you for thinking we know how to read.

I think abstract comprehension is a lot to ask of some of us who went to city schools. http://www.simnet.is/agirs/yahoo/45.gif

As somebody pointed out in his signature,
I wouldn't take any pill from a weird dominatrix-looking guy in a disaffected werehouse. Where the hell is your common sense? ;)

Everyone knows of the Matrix. I dunno/don't think they've all seen it, but they at least know black leather trench coats and bullet time.

I posted on the old boards, sometimes I think Japan is a lot like The Matrix. I was having a conversation with a friend and it went something like this...

Japan is The Matrix. On the surface, everything looks nice and shiny and efficient. People are warm and friendly and inviting and polite. Everything seems well. But underneath all that lies the truth, a world (society) where things aren't so great.

Us foreigners, the ones who live in Japan at least and have seen the truth, are the resistance. We are not a part of The Matrix, rather, the real world that very few know about. We plug into The Matrix from time to time to serve a purpose, but for the most part we exist outside of it. We are forced to band together.

Japanese people are like Cypher. They know about the real world, but instead choose to live inside of The Matrix, because it's easier than separating from it and trying to fight with the resistance. They can believe in the lie. They choose the blue pill.

Japanophiles are the ordinary people plugged into The Matrix. They only know of The Matrix, they are completely clueless to the real world. Some minds can be freed, some cannot.

Aggressive Japanese men are agents. It is their job to protect The Matrix, and they will do so at any and all costs. For in The Matrix, they have great powers, but in the real world they are ordinary like the rest of us. "Agents" can take the form of the drunk businessman on the train who randomly starts accosting you just because you are a foreigner, to the guys in the fabled black vans who drive around yelling into their bullhorns "expel all foreigners!"

Makes me wonder if the Wachowski brothers didn't pay a visit to Japan before making those movies.

And gaijin smash is our bullet time. We can expand our powers beyond what any Japanese could dream to achieve, even the agents! We're the chosen ones! Yay!
