Hello, and welcome to my thread. After careful talk with an anonymous OP9 member and thinking I've decided to make a club for those rare people on OP9 who are always right, no matter what they say. This club is somewhat comparable to other 'elitist' clubs and societies such as Mensa, Aristocracy, The Mile High Club, Christians, Amish and Canadians. Our goal is to be strong together and gain influence in the Padded Walls subforum, and you may refer and even brag about being in the 'Always-right club' anywhere and wherever in Padded Walls. Also, members are required to have a little piece of text in their signature saying "Member of the Always Right club". Non 'Always Right'-ers are required to always take an 'Always Right'-er's opinions or facts for granted. The 'Always Right' club is by no means governed by me, we're an anarcho-syndicalist club. We take it in turns to act as a sort of executive officer for the week.
People who want to join this exclusive club should post here immidiately, and are free to post in this thread afterwards. Those who are not club members and not interested in becoming one should piss off.
DISCLAIMER
I reserve the right to deny anyone enterence to the club. Membership only counts within OP9's 'The Room With Padded Walls'.

Ninety-nine red balloons
Floating in the summer sky
Panic bells, it's red alert
There's something here from somewhere else
The war machine springs to life
Opens up one eager eye
Focusing it on the sky
As ninety-nine red balloons go by
Make me a member damn-it! If you don't I don't give a shit because I am right and will put it in my sig anyway!

I've decided to make a club for those rare people on OP9 who are always right, no matter what they say. I'm assuming this discounts rehashing (it's right, but unoriginal), possible arguement to made points, and/or a lack of pragmatism, such as emotional expression backed up by "hard facts". If this is the case, than a lot of us can't join, unless we're starting fresh.
This club is somewhat comparable to other 'elitist' clubs and societies such as Mensa, Aristocracy, The Mile High Club, Christians, Amish and Canadians. In that case, we need our own town, an emblem, and an overzealous leader. Otherwise it's just another petty online gathering a la role-playing. If we're all cool about it, though...I guess it's okay.
So we can't have an overzealous leader then. Boohoo. I think the first one to hit the executive hot-seat will not give it up, and post numerous accounts on as to why he/she can stay for as long as he/she wants. I mean, if we're all always right, we counter each other's points and no one's really on top. Except for the first dud to take the seat.

This makes you the overzealous leader then. Ok ok. I think I know where this is going.
So I'm assuming this makes all members quasi-equal, yet open to tear each other a new one? If that's the case, then you're on the dot on this part; "anarcho-syndicalist".
..

I'm sorry, being cute and female are not reasons for being allowed in this exclusive club. Sexism is not tolerated and perfect equality is always encouraged within the 'Always Right' club. The only thing that counts is elitism. Please be more elitist and I'll see you again in two weeks.

I was considering putting in an application, but I don't think I will. You see, I'm not elitist, I'm just always right. Even when I can see the other person's point of view, or sympathize with their situation, it doesn't change the fact that the only reason I went into the thread was because I knew without a doubt that I was right. In being always right, I can afford to be nice to the poor, ignorant people who don't know that they are wrong by default because I am always right.

I'm a lifeguard, which means that I have a whistle. I am always correct because during the rebuttle I just blow my whistle *Whistle* and then say, "Woa there turbo! There is no crap in the pool. You're gonna have to take that shit and vacate the pool emediaely!" And if they try to respond to that, it only results in more whistle blowing and yelling until eventually the other party breaks down, and then leaves crying. Plus, being a lifeguard your in great shape for the lay-d's, which is, of course, a few more points right there.

I've found Chinese to be a bit more difficult than Japanese. I've been able to pick up on a bit of japanese simply by being a member of the univursity's anime club. Most people who learn japanese have difficulty with kanji, in chinese all you have is kanji. I've never found the pronunciation difficult. However, the wrong intonation can lead to some awkward moments. ex. "ask" and "kiss" sound very similar.

sagogi is korean for beef. What I was saying was that if Praet wanted to mantain control he would have to systematically kill off small amounts of the club populatio, much like Stalin committed purges of Russia population to maintain power. I had figured that as a cow, which is pre-destined by being a cow to be sent to slaughter, that it made the most sense for you. However, there has been a Coup in the club. Praat has lost his sit of power. We are in Anarchy until a new Fearless Leader can be found, so a purge is moot.
IT'S A COUP!!! IT'S A COUP!!! IT'S A COUP!!!
Sorry about that, my korean is a little rusty =P.
I do understand what you are saying thoough, but many people believe that most revolutions are destined to take place from the working class(1984), or the cow if you will.

what if you like/enjoy piecing together kanji? I guess in chinese...it's just remembering because you don't have different pronuncations for the kanji.
beyond the kanji what else would you say? When you see the kanji do you think of them as ideas or the manderian pronuncation that coincides with it? Someone earlier here who knew both manderian and canotnese said he just imagines the idea behind it instead of reading it in one of the languages (imagine that though, two different voices fighting over what the kanji "says".

I understand that it was Williams hope that the Proles would rise up, but that would never happen. Although I am picking up what you are putting down.

Am I elitist? Hell yes, I constantly think I am better than other people for having a larger vocabulary, a keen eye for spelling, and the simple fact I am of Jewish background, meaning I have a lot more money than you do. Eat it.

My first post which was highly intellectual and elitist, followed by the allusion to the brothers grimm, and an insult to Disney. ... Fuck you Disney.
Other qualifications:
My hebrew nature allows me to calculate anything related to money to a fraction of a fraction, and I actually sleep on a mattress made of one hundred dollar bills.
I hire immigrant workers to slave in my dollar bill mines, located in northern oregon, where they bring only the freshest smelling money to me.
When I see a commoner, or "surf" as they used to be called, I frequently hold my nose, as to keep their unwashed odors from wafting into my nose, and causing me a moments discomfort, something that someone raised in the subarbs, as I have been, can not stand
I have only rich friends, and we only talk about things relating to having money, or the disgusting habits of the poor. As of late, we have been discussing plans to release rabid dogs into the poorer section of town, and video taping the carnage, so we can send the video to the TV network Fox, a very elitist channel, who lies about the news, and keeps the masses stupid and content.
Whenever I go to another country, I bring with me a back scratcher, always. Not to scratch my rich, and toned back, but to attack any of the dirty locals who stray too close to me, while I am staying at my 5 star hotel, or at the country club and golf course.
My family belongs to a sailing club, and shall be soon be acquiring our first yacht, once it has been finished.
*Lights a dollar bill smoke pipe* I believe, that should suffice, yes?
Oh, by the way, I am, and always shall be, correct in everything I say, regardless of the medium to which it is recieved.

Of all threads, why did you feel to need to post this in MINE? As it's painfully obvious that it's not applicable, and entirely out of context.
To all who applied with the sole exception of the guy with the Jesus avatar, you failed. Try again in two weeks. The guy with the Jesus avatar, I'm carefully considering your application, but you may need to try and make at least 75% of your post elitist. Also, didn't I say this club encourages equalism? Poor people aren't necissarely inferior people. Only the ignorant masses are.

What I mean is, YOU are, in the eyes of an elitist adult, a child.
On the sole fact that you are younger than 18.
An elitist adult hates being in any subservient position to an adult younger than them. eg if they are 39 and their boss is 27.
Let alone a 17 year old.
Goodness me.
Which means only Elitist under 18's will join. Which cancels out the whole idea of 'elitism' because any elitist adult is more elite than an elitst under 18. It IMPLODES!

You confuse elitist for intellectual.
Paris Hilton would be an elitist, believing herself better than others. Therefore she would look down her nose at people she percieves as lower than her. Socially inferior, financially inferior and age based inferiority. An elitist, believing they are above most people, would also have trouble with teamwork, as they would constantly be trying to prove their superiority to the detriment of the team dynamic.
An elitist wouldn't join a club started by someone they don't percieve as on their level.
I understand what Prae is TRYING to do, but he fails at the first step because true elitists wouldn't apply to join in the first place.

I think your confuseing Elitism for being a total asshat. To recognise others to be elite doesnt have to mean your out to prove your better then them.
Take Elite soldiers who are recognised for there talents and training. They work as a team and wold probably look down somewhat on others. Some will be total asshats but others are probably ok. They should be proud to be elite and special as long as they dont take it too far.

But they are Elite, not Elitist.
An Elitist is The belief that certain persons or members of certain classes or groups deserve favored treatment by virtue of their perceived superiority, as in intellect, social status, or financial resources. Or someone who believes in rule by an elite group. Compare to Elites which are a group or class of persons or a member of such a group or class, enjoying superior intellectual, social, or economic status.
Being Elite is deserved. Elitist is percieved.

Yes, because intellectuals and elitists worldwide care about silly swimming contests and whomever is good at them. If I asked you who Dik Trom was, would you know? No. It's not a sign of ignorance, it's because you don't care even if I did tell you. I don't care for swimming, or mosts sports. Hence, I don't know the people that compete in them. Even the lowest common denominator (read: you) should understand. Seriously. Thorpe is Australian (Jay representing) and Phelps is American (the lot of you). I'm neither. I'm from Europe. Why the hell should I care about YOUR athletes? I know who Holland's most prominent swimmers are, and that's good enough for me.
And I'd pay to see Stephen Hawking saying 'dude' from time to time. I shit you not. 15 euro at least.
You fail. Please try again.
StormShadow
08-28-2005, 08:18 PM
You would pay Euro? What kind of shirt currency is that? You have just proven me to be better than you, as the European Union is a glorified Soviet Bloc. And the Olympics is not a little sports competition. And you show your ignorance by saying that you are not affilitated with the party. If you're not affiliated, how do you get the privilage of deciding who leaders are? That's like Saddam getting to choose the next leader of Iraq.
Praetorian
08-28-2005, 08:27 PM
I'm not affiliated with the club, I'm still the only one (outside the moderators and admin) able to edit my posts, so naturally I get to appoint the leader. Just the next one on the list (unless that person is an alternate forum account or, well, you), even YOU should be able to understand.
And whis glorified 'Soviet Bloc' you're talking about has the world's highest GDP and some of the countries are in the top 10 of HDI (human development index). Should I be ashamed of this so called glorified Soviet Block then, even though it's probably the best place in the world to live at the moment? I do not feel the need to make an America versus EU thread of this. So drop this, please. You're welcome to make one cunning retort about this, but I's just have to suck up my pride and eagerness to bash you into the ground by not replying. Don't want to turn this into a flamefest.
The olympics? Why should I care? I'm not joking either. Jocks care for sports, elitist intellectuals don't. Ofcourse there are some exceptions, but I'm not one of them.

America rocks because we have had to bail out Europe not once, but twice in the past hundred years. Therefore, all countries, or UNIONS are inferior. Nuff said. Me-yun all-gool isse-yo! (korean.)
Praetorian
08-28-2005, 08:34 PM
Our little nation of the Netherlands together with France bailed you out too. Without us there'd be no, you know, US. The Netherlands gave you 30mil in currency (which got rid of your entire foreign debt) and shot up Brittish ships that went to the US. The French even supplied troops and gave you your nation's most distinguished landmark. The fact that you bailed our country out once (yes, only once.) was just a nice repayment you owed us.
Sorry, but my pride just couldn't suck that up. I can't stand it when people use the brave deeds their grandfathers did for personal arguments as if they themselves did it.
StormShadow
08-28-2005, 08:38 PM
That was hundreds of years ago.And I am not acting as though I did them, just acknolwedging that my country is the best for what it has done. And although France gave us money and troops, I recall a war called Vietnam were the US came to bail out the French. The debt has been paid. And who cares if they gave us the statue of Liberty? You can't use a gift from a country as an example of why they should be respected. Plus I never said that we pulled the Netherlands out of the flames twice, only Europe.

I read this story about a woman who tried to smuggle 178 condoms filled with cocaine into the country, but some split open, and she started freaking out on the plane ride. This old woman gave her some mineral oil to help her, but you know what? THAT ONLY BROKE DOWN THE LATEX!!! When the woman finally died at the hospitol, 48 condoms had ruptured! She had nearly 400 times a dethal dose of coke in her system!
Man, my high... she has left me. Someone else post here so It's not a damned IM message, and we don't have to take this to the Private Messages.

Dude, it's like, 1 O'Clock in the morning over here. You have to be in Europe or Australia to be up at this time. Where's Jay the Man?

I don't need to join to be right. ;) Nor do I need the affirmation of such a club. However, I can think of a few times when I've been wrong though, so I would corrupt such a club.

Thank you for voicing your opinion on my threads. I will most certainly make threads that appeal more to the mainstream audience (read; you) from now on, because I care about what you think.
Oh wait. I do not.
