Something similar happened to me once... I thought my computer wasn't working, so I hit it and hit it... Then I realised I didnt Press the On/Off button... I felt silly after that...

eh, no the software was messing up the scroll wheel. It only worked in IE and Word and AIM. But not in Netscape or World of Warcraft or Halflife 2. I use the scroll wheel a lot and it was driving me nuts. I just uninstalled the extra software, leaving just the regular windows mouse drivers, and it works fine now. ;-)
